The town of Milltown Malbay is mostly recognised for its traditional Irish music and folklore, with many sessions and festivals held all year long. The most famous of these is the Willy Clancy Festival each summer which attracts visitors from all over the world to experience the atmosphere and magic that comes alive at this time. The town lies just a stone's throw from the secluded sandy beaches at Spanish Point and White Strand, golf courses at Lahinch and Spanish Point and a little bit further along the stunning coastline you can visit the majestic Cliffs of Moher, Ireland's biggest attraction. The pretty town of Miltown Malbay is located close to the Atlantic coast in County Clare, and is only an hour from Shannon Airport. Famed for its traditional Irish music, it is home to the Willie Clancy music festival, which is held in July, however visitors will find fabulous live music in many pubs and bars whatever the time of year. Miltown Malbay is close to some excellent beach resorts, including Lahinch, Spanish Point and Doonbeg, all of which are well worth a visit for their relaxed vibe and great surf, not to mention their excellent golf courses. The Burren National Park to the north of the town is a mecca for walkers and nature lovers with its unique geological landscapes and rich colourful wildflowers. Also to the north you will find the striking Cliffs of Moher, which rise majestically out of the ocean and are best appreciated from one of many boat trips departing nearby.
