Cahir is one of County Tipperary’s designated heritage towns and is a popular base for tourists to discover this region of Ireland. It sits on the River Suir and is home to Cahir Castle which is a beautifully preserved defence castle and is open daily to the public. There is a small shopping precinct in the town as well as a range of pubs and restaurants. For the more active, Cahir has a leisure centre with tennis courts and a mountain biking track as well as a local golf course. Close to Cahir are the Galtee and the Knockmealdown Mountain ranges which offer a variety of walks for all abilities. A lovely area to visit, all year round.

The owner was so welcoming and helpful, the setting on a farm was beautiful and the cottage had everything we needed. Well located near great hiking and historic sites...would love to go back there sometime!
