  • "Julie's cottage was lovely and exactly as pictured."

Lovely owners who waited for us even though we were late arriving and left a lovely homemade bread, butter, milk and jam which was so thoughtful. Had everything a family could need and even provided two cots for both floors. The kids enjoyed the toys immensely and there was a huge range. Wonderful open fireplace with turf provided. The outside space was fantastic, again with loads to do. Easy parking. Had beautiful views of Kerry and was close to town but far enough to get away from the usual hustle. Will definitely stay again as it was one of the cosies places we have been to. Thank you so much

  • "We really enjoyed our stay here."

The cottage was immaculately clean and we immediately felt relaxed and comfortable. Mary greeted us at the door, showed us around and very kindly left some fresh milk and a yummy cake in the fridge for us. We tried so hard to play a game of pool but between the local cat insisting on sitting on the top of the table

  • "What a gem!"

I wish I had stayed for 2 weeks! A classic Kerry family farmhouse where I felt so at home - with a very warm welcome by Mary the very helpful friendly host with a freshly baked loaf, tea, butter and jam! The house was delightful - it reminded me of visiting my Uncles and Aunts homes as a child. Spotlessly clean. A very pretty garden. Next to a farm where I could hear the cows and their calves. I slept so well. Visiting all my local relatives and friends shopping in Castleisland, then "coming home" in the evenings welcomed by Mary's dogs Fly and Mollie on their walk. It was a wonderful stay and I was so sorry to leave.

Mary went over and above her duty to provide home made bread, milk, sugar, jam, tea bags, jelly sweets for the kids, and more. Nice safe back garden for pets and children. Convient to Killarney, Tralee, and a short hop to shops in Castleisland. I would recommend this cottage for your holiday in Kerry

A quiet location and set up well for travellers bringing their dog. The rear garden area is secure via a robust gate and there are numerous places nearby for walks with lovely views of the Kerry mountains. The property itself is warm (open fire as well as central heating) and functional for a week away in Ireland.

  • "We had a wonderful stay Julie's Cottage and would have enjoyed another week there if we could have."

It is cosy, but not too small and we were very comfortable with 7 in the house. It's a pretty central location for Kerry so our trips to Valentia Island, Killarney National Park, Kenmare were not too far and Tralee is close by. One small piece of feedback is that the cooker/hob could be updated but it still served it's purpose. Aside from that (which is a very minor matter) we could not recommend Julie's Cottage highly enough. The host was very friendly, helpful and pleasant to deal with and left some treats for us on our arrival which was a very nice touch. We will, without hesitation, be back in the future.

  • "Absolutely WONDERFUL location!"

Two large grocery stores within 7 minutes drive, Tralee within 15 minutes drive, Killarney within 30 minutes drive.... we were able to explore the Slea Head peninsula, Ring of Kerry and Beara Peninsula without having to travel extreme distances to get there. Shops, pubs, bakeries, coffee shops, restaurants, all just minutes away. The cottage itself was also PERFECT! One of my criteria was washer/ dryer. We had four people traveling this time, so luggage was an issue. We wanted to pack light for a 10 night Ireland stay so a washer/ dryer was necessary. It worked out great. We were able to do laundry on the go. Another was separate bathrooms/ bedrooms for everyone- also provided! The bathrooms and bedrooms were very roomy, clean and comfy. The rest of the house also exceeded expectations. The kitchen was a good size, very satisfactory, providing everything we could possibly need- we were pleasantly surprised to see that Mrs. Mary had baked a fresh loaf of Brown bread for us (waiting for us on the kitchen table), fresh Irish milk, cheese and butter in the fridge and homemade jam, OH MY! That jam was SO GOOD! Cooking breakfast everyday was a pleasure with those great big windows in the kitchen. I loved it! The living and dining room was also quite large and roomy, very homey and comfy. We had cable tv, DVD movies to choose from, a variety of games and books to choose from and we could stay connected with wifi.... Mrs. Mary thought of everything. We were pleasantly pleased and would highly recommend Julie's Cottage to anyone looking for a convenient base to explore the SW.

The cottage is set in a beautiful location and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting at the table in the yard at breakfast. The beds were comfortable and the house was well equipped (we like to cook and used the barbecue as well), and we felt completely at home. Above all, our host, Mary, was fantastic. When we lost our way looking for the cottage, she came to meet us, led us back to the house, and showed us how everything was set up. She came back several days later and brought us scones. The location is convenient to Dingle and Kilmarney and many other interesting places. We highly recommend this cottage for couples and families; we noticed that Mary has books and toys for youngsters and even a basket of wool for anyone who'd like to try their hand at knitting.

It was extremely well equipped with excellent facilities. The owner was very accommodating and helpful. We particularly enjoyed having an open fire in the evenings, a game of pool in the outside shelter and sitting in the sun on the pretty little patio. All the bedrooms were very attractive and comfortable with two showers available. The location was lovely and quiet and you could do some walks from the front door. However, it was only a short drive to the main road from where it was an easy journey to either Castleisland, Tralee or Killarney. I would definitely recommend it.

  • "Julie's Cottage was a fabulous location for starters."

It was just outside Castleisland where there is everything you could possibly need. We were greeted by Mary and her son who were just so helpful and kind to us. They had everything covered and we've stayed in a number of properties where there was something missing but this wasn't the case at Julie's Cottage. The level of detail was great. The fire was set for us; turf at hand outside; toiletries of plenty; a really well stocked kitchen with anything you'd need to cook just about any meal and Mary had even prepared a hamper of fresh brown bread, artisan cheese and jam! The beds were extremely comfortable and that farmhouse feeling of real homeliness ran throughout the house. We made the point to Mary that it really felt like a home than a house and we have found that a hard quality to find when renting holiday cottages. There was also a downstairs bedroom with bathrooms both up and downstairs, so it was very friendly to people of all ages; and indeed our dog, Hollie who was based downstairs with us. The garden has a number of outdoor seating areas and a very good BBQ and fire-pit made meant that dining outdoors or just relaxing with a few drinks was comfortable to say the least. The garden at the rear is very well landscaped and all closed in so it's very child friendly too. There is a roofed shed/entertaining space to the rear also which Mary has decorated with candles everywhere and there were even blankets left to use out there also. The location was very close to Castleisland; 15/20 minute drive to Killarney and less to Tralee; so where being at the centre of things is concerned, you have that covered also. You can get a taxi to or from Castleisland very easily where there are plenty of pubs and restaurants and Mary provided us with a number to call should we require that service. The views to the rear of the property are lovely. All in all, Julie's Cottage made for a fantastic base which offered us the comfort of either staying in a wonderful property all day such is the homely feel especially with that open fire roaring or choosing to hop in the car and explore all that Kerry has to offer! We actually got engaged at the property and Mary having heard the news greeted us upon leaving with a lovely gift to mark the occasion! If you're looking for a home from home that offers all the comforts of home; which is pet friendly and suited to all ages...then Julie's Cottage is ideal. We've already expressed an interest in securing the property next October Bank Holiday Weekend as it's a very special place for us now too.

The kids were thrilled with having internet available immediately, as well as many dvds and games to choose from. The house is beautifully decorated and the open living room/dining room plan made for a great space to host family. Having my morning tea out back on the patio among the beautiful flowers was a real treat. We will definitely return back again to Ireland and stay at this location.
