About the location
KINSALE, COUNTY CORK
Cork 15 miles; Clonakilty 22 miles.
Kinsale is located at the mouth of the River Bandon, on the Atlantic coast in County Cork. Popular with tourists, it is famed for its majestic marina which shelters luxury yachts, and is home to a number of sailing clubs. There are fine restaurants producing gourmet cuisine, and fashionable bars and shops to hold the attention of even the most discerning visitor. The town has a rich history and impressive architecture, whilst retaining a quaint air of antiquity throughout its narrow intersecting streets. Historical sites and places of interest are waiting to be discovered, including Charles Fort, and Desmond Castle, which houses the International Museum of Wine. Further afield, but still within easy reach, is Blarney Castle, where you can kiss the Blarney Stone and leave with the 'gift of the gab'. Whether you try this or not, we are sure you will be talking about this beautiful region for a long time to come!
