Originally a medieval fishing port, the town of Kinsale and its majestic harbour, has been attracting tourists for years and is a popular destination for holidaymakers all year round. The town is bursting with personality and is now known as the gourmet capital of Ireland boasting many shops, stylish bars and restaurants to whet your appetite. Why not rent a boat at the marina for the day and enjoy the area from a different perspective, with the Kinsale Water Education Centre being a great place for energetic children to learn new skills. For the more adventurous, the surf at Garrettstown is only five miles away and definitely worth a try. The region is scattered with secluded coves, historical sites such as Desmond castle, home to the International Museum of Wine and also Charles Fort which has a visitor centre. Excellent golf courses at Kinsale Golf Club and the Golf Links course just five miles away from your Kinsale cottage. Further afield and within easy reach you can visit the lively city of Cork, and here you will find attractions including Blarney Castle where you can kiss the Stone and receive the gift of the gab! Note: The marina is very close to this property, children must be supervised. Note: This cottage is on the ground floor and there is separate accommodation on the first floor with its own entrance.

Kinsale is located at the mouth of the River Bandon, on the Atlantic coast in County Cork. Popular with tourists, it is famed for its majestic marina which shelters luxury yachts, and is home to a number of sailing clubs. There are fine restaurants producing gourmet cuisine, and fashionable bars and shops to hold the attention of even the most discerning visitor. The town has a rich history and impressive architecture, whilst retaining a quaint air of antiquity throughout its narrow intersecting streets. Historical sites and places of interest are waiting to be discovered, including Charles Fort, and Desmond Castle, which houses the International Museum of Wine. Further afield, but still within easy reach, is Blarney Castle, where you can kiss the Blarney Stone and leave with the 'gift of the gab'.
