The town's museum houses a fascinating anthology of folklore material together with one of the finest collections of the West Cork hooded cloak. Carrigaphooca Castle, stood on an outcrop of rock, high above the trees is worth a visit, while the fabulous cities of Cork and Killarney are within easy touring distance, as are the stunning beaches of West Cork.

The Stepping Stone is a bright, spacious, modern house with a warm atmosphere. There was plenty of room in the big kitchen/diner to cook and entertain. Would love to stay there again. We met the owners who are lovely people, they brought us eggs during our stay.
