Our hots greeted us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the house and explained local attractions. The house is well situated within easy walking distance of Kenmare. It is spotlessly clean and very comfortable and nicely decorated. The beds are really comfu=y and the kitchen has everything you might need, including a supply o tea, coffee and sugar. Highly recommended.

  • "The perfect holiday home to explore the beautiful Ring of Kerry."

It was spacious, comfortable, very clean and had everything you could imagine you needed - even a small screwdriver (which was a godsend as I was trying to get my son's new toy out of its packaging). The location is excellent, far away from the centre that its quiet but only a 10 min walk. Its also on the Ring of Kerry itself. If you are looking to explore or just relax and enjoy the gem that is Kenmare, this is the perfect holiday home. My children didn't want to come home!

Thanks, Helen, for your lovely comments about No.2 Millfield and delighted you enjoyed your stay. I know that you really enjoyed the beaches along the Ring of Kerry. Delighted to have you back at Millfield in the future. Thank you. Gail Property Owner

  • "A wonderful property with a wonderful host!"

2 Millfield is a very spacious, comfortable and well equipped house, everything we needed was provided. It is in an amazing location with Kenmare, a lovely town, a short walk away and all the sights of Southern Ireland accessible from the doorstep. A service station with great food and a fast EV charger is at the end of the road. Gail was so kind and welcoming and gave us great advice of where to go. We book holiday cottages a lot and this was definitely one of the best and excellent value for money, the perfect base for a great holiday.

  • "This was the ninth time I have booked the same cottage in Ireland together with the ferry ( Ireland is across the Irish Sea )."

I booked for 2019 as soon as we returned last September and paid a deposit for a repeat holiday as had been previous practice. I received a telephone call from you four months later to say that Sykes were not doing Irish ferries anymore and that I would have to make my own arrangements. I found this to be terribly upsetting and unprofessional on your part and was dealt with in a very offhand manner - how was I to get to an Irish cottage without a ferry? Accordingly, I will not be dealing with Sykes Cottages again!

  • "We had a fantastic week at Millfield House, just one week ago."

Gail, the owner, was so delightful that I wished she lived next door! She greeted us with great warmth and explained everything about the house and area and made us feel very welcome to contact her if we needed to. We arrived to tea set out and goodies as well, along with provisions for a great breakfast the next morning which was so welcome since we had just flown all night and driven most of the day. The house was beautiful with everything one could ever want and so much more than the photos could depict. It was beautifully furnished with warm and comfy furniture, wonderful beds, complete bathrooms (3) and a great, well equipped kitchen and dining area. And spotlessly clean! The garden in the back was lovely with flowers and a table for eating and a fireplace in the living room to take the evening chill off. We had guests join us for a few days and Gail was lovely about the extra people. There was plenty of room for us all but still cozy and welcoming. We loved the little pathway that led to the town of Kenmare - just a few minutes walk to all of the great pubs, music, shops and sights of the town. The area was perfectly situated for drives to the Ring of Beara, Ring of Kerry and other sights. We loved the pancake house, Strawberry Fields, just a short beautiful drive away - great for a rainy morning and lovely drive. There were plenty of great walks around the area and breathtaking drives. Pub fare was delicious and we had wonderful cuisine at the Lime Tree and '35'. We would absolutely recommend this beautiful house, area and most delightful owner and would not consider staying anywhere else!
