The surrounding area plays host to excellent nature walks such as the Geological Walk which takes you across spectacular landscapes and rural terrain. The village is more commonly known as The Knot on the Ring of Kerry route as it is claimed that it is impossible not to pass through Sneem when travelling the route. The village has a constant buzz as it sees so many visitors all year round. The Ring of Kerry has so much to do and see that you will be spoilt for choice. Spend a family day on the beach at Waterville with a picnic and a good book or venture to the colourful market town of Cahersiveen, which is bursting with pubs, heritage and atmosphere. The area is full of sandy beaches, sheltered inlets and breathtaking scenery with an abundance of activities such as golfing, pony trekking, boating trips and fishing. Situated between the towns of Kenmare and Waterville, and on the route of the Kerry Way, the village of Sneem provides shops, pubs and a number of cosy tea rooms. With rows of brightly coloured houses, and a lively atmosphere, Sneem is a previous winner of the National Tidy Town Award and is a popular stop for tourists and locals alike. Sneem is located on the famous Ring of Kerry and is known as the Knot in the Ring. Just ten minutes drive away is the Blue Flag beach at White Strand whilst the nearby town of Kenmare offers beautiful coastlines to explore, winding streets and interesting boutiques, while the coastal town of Waterville is only a short drive away, and provides a great day out for all the family.
