  • "I have never stayed in a holiday rental with such a well equipped kitchen."

Better equipped than my own!! I found the sofas somewhat uncomfortable. I don’t seem to fit well on a sofa with a long seat front to back even though they look very nice. Beds were comfortable. Shower was good. Toilet and wash basin bit cramped and difficult to negotiate.

  • "This was a lovely property in a great location for exploring everything that Donegal has to offer."

Everything was spotlessly clean and very well-equipped. The bed and sofas were very comfy and the kitchen was packed with everything to make cooking easy. Lovely views from the front windows as well. We had a slight accident while there and the hosts couldn't have been more helpful - this was really appreciated. Highly recommended!

  • "We had a great stay."

Very clean and had loads of kitchen pots, pans, dishes and cutlery. Also had plenty of cleaning materials. Beds were very comfortable and the shower in the ensuite was great, very powerful. This is a great area to tour and sightsee from. Would recommend this house to anyone seeking a lovely stay in Donegal.

  • "The cottage was comfortable and very functional."

The host provides for all basic needs and then some. Directions to the cottage need to be improved. Also, it would be helpful to have written instructions for the electric shower and oven. (They are different than the US appliances and not obvious.)The locale is great if you are looking for peace and quiet. The scenery is beautiful. If you like, there is a bar within walking distance.

The road was better than we remembered it from past years in the area. The house was well provisioned and we felt all essentials were there. The beds were comfortable and the house felt like home. I would certainly recommend this home to anyone planning a holiday vacation in this part of Donegal. This home is a perfect base to explore all that County Donegal has to offer.

Spotless, roomy. They provided us with such generous amounts of toilet rolls , kitchen rolls, towels. Absolutely everything had generous amounts of all e.g. pots, pans, ware, glasses. We were so thrilled with the lovely roomy home. Please say a huge Thank You to Seamus and Dympna for us. We were doubly lucky with the fabulous weather we had too. A truly wonderful house. About the location

BALLYBOFEY, COUNTY DONEGAL

Donegal Town 16 miles; Letterkenny 18 miles.

Located through Barnesmore Gap in the heart of County Donegal and resting on the banks of the River Finn, Ballybofey is often mentioned in the same breath as its ‘twin town,’ Stranorlar, with the two towns separated by a small bridge across the River Finn. The river is noted for its quality trout and salmon fishing with a number of other fisheries dotting the area. The town has much to offer with a good selection of shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs, a theatre, an 18-hole golf course and regular traditional music and other nightlife in the evenings. Walkers will enjoy exploring the local woodlands or the shore walk around Lough Trusk, while the 47km-long Bluestack Way, which meanders through the mountains of the same name, is also accessible.
