We had everything we needed and more for our stay. The unit was one of the cleanest cottages we have rented in a long time! I'm very grateful that the owner allowed us to bring our dog with us for the holidays which can be a struggle with holiday cottages. The location is also excellent to get around and we were able to explore the area each day.

  • "Firstly, we were pleasantly surprised at how spacious the house was both inside and out."

It was close to the facilities that we needed, a play park, shops, food, pub and beaches. Between the weather and Covid we didn't really get to experience many restaurants but hopefully there will be a next time. It was centrally located in Conamara so plenty of Gaeilge and everything we wanted to visit was within about an hour's drive, we chose it mainly for it's location with having a young family and speaking Gaeilge. It is quiet but that's what we wanted and you could go for a nice stroll without bumping into many people. The house itself was very comfortable, welcoming and well maintained with all the amenities stated. A nice touch when we arrived was the amazing homemade cake, unexpected and extremely tasty! A highly recommended house. Go raibh míle maith agaibh, Seán, Kathy agus clann.

  • "We absolutely loved our stay at Teach Teolaí."

The house surpassed our expectations and the family who own it were so kind and welcoming. We were given a gorgeous porter cake on arrival. The house was immaculately clean and everything we could think of was in place for our stay. You need to bring your own toiletries but that would be a given really. There are board games and books as well as wifi and TV. We lit the fire on one occasion and it was lovely. The house and garden are well kept and all the essential kitchen supplies are in place. We had such a lovely comfortable stay that we have already advised my sister and her family to try to reserve some time there in the future. We were a family of 5 (2 seniors, 1 adult, 1 teenager and our dog Oliver) and I hope we can return again soon. Thanks for making our holiday as relaxing as could be. Claudine & family

  • "What a lovely surprise it was to walk into this house and feel immediately at home."

We were lucky enough to stay here for 2 weeks and we enjoyed every moment of our stay here. Patricia was responsive and helpful and made us feel most welcome. This area is remote and tucked away which is just what we were looking for. Long walks in a gorgeous and peaceful setting, no matter which direction. Visiting the Coral Strand was lovely, a good walk there and great swimming too. The town is small but everything you might need is there, a good pub with excellent Guinness and a great Sunday session, the Eurostar market is well stocked with everything you might need. A couple of restaurants too though it was more fun to cook at home (the kitchen is well appointed). Lovely to stay home and have a fire and a glass of wine. The bedrooms were nice in size, the mattress extremely comfortable, the linens fresh and of good quality. This is a good place to stay if you’re looking to be a bit away from the hustle and bustle of Galway. Day trips to Roundstone, Clifden, Connemara National Park, the Aran Islands, Galway all easy. We highly recommend this home and hope to return again soon! Thank you. Regina Wiedlin & John McDonagh

  • "The cottage is quietly located in a low density development, many properties of which are full time homes."

There is an excellent Spar supermarket, a local pub and restautant/carry-out establishment a short walk away. The property is clean, well furnished and comfortable with a large conservatory and easily lit turf fire. The journey from the ferry port of entry, Larne outside Belfast, is straight forward. The toll motorways in Ireland are reasonably priced, fairly lightly used as you go west with no commercial traffic to speak of, and are easy to navigate. The 2 hours from Dublin to Galway was an easy drive, the countryside becomming more interesting the further west you go. Connemara with its lakes and mountains is breathtaking and villages such as Cong and towns such as Clifden should not be missed. At 42 miles long Lake Corrib is special, Ashford Castle a good setting out point for a Loch cruise, and Galway itself a continental experience, even on a wet day. The town museum is well worth a visit covering local history and culture. The area has been in occupation since Neolithic times and there is a lot to see if you seek it out.

Micheal and Tricia are very friendly and welcoming. You have everything you could possibly need for either relaxing or hiking holiday. The only negative is, how long it takes to get to Galway, but a positive note is the scenery is beautiful. Also we haven't yet found a pub that welcomes your pet inside, when you are with family or friends you do not want them outside on their own or indeed in inclement weather.

  • "The property has an abundance of crockery and cutlery but the pans were really large."

As my wife is disabled we need to book properties that suit our needs and so we have occupancy of two in large properties. This is usually fine but sometimes like this one the pans are tailored for full occupancy and not for just the two of us. Beds can also be a problem for us as as well as we need firm to orthopaedic but most are soft and unsupportive as was this one. We couldn't find any instruction manuals on how to work the appliances. The property is probably the best we've been to during our 7 years visiting Ireland.
