The pretty village of Milltown is located 30 miles north of Galway City, in County Galway. The locals take great pride in the presentation of their village, and it has won the prestigious 'Tidy Towns' award 8 years running from 1996 - 2003. The village has a wonderful riverside walk, a children's playground, tennis courts and a picnic area. For eating, drinking, and local Irish music, there are fine local establishments offering great hospitality and a warm welcome. Two majestic lakes; Lough Mask and Lough Corrib are located an easy drive away, perfect for angling and boating, and both the pretty village of Cong, and Ashford Castle are located directly between these two lakes. Take a day trip to the Connemara National Park, with glassy lakes and rugged mountains, or take a short boat ride to the Aran Islands, home of the Aran sweater. A lovely location with something to suit all tastes.

The village of Milltown is the perfect location for an introduction to local Irish life with great pubs, quaint shops and a general relaxed atmosphere. Golfers are treated to a number of fine courses in the surrounding area, and anglers can cast their lines at a variety of excellent fishing sites. This Milltown cottage makes a fantastic base for exploring beautiful County Galway, the breath-taking Connemara National Park, a variety of rugged coastlines, and the glorious Aran Islands, only a short boat ride away.
