Their lovely collie dog Laddie came to play with our collie Megan every day. House was 15 minutes from Kilkenny city which you could get a taxi into very good service and enjoy some of the wonderful Irish pubs and music made very welcome everywhere we went .Would love to return one day.

  • "The house was gorgeous and very comfortable, clean and had all the appliances, towels and bedding that we needed."

The owners Brigid and Dan were very welcoming and helpful. We were kindly treated to milk and butter on arrival and delicious scones and buns during the week. The kids loved the freedom of playing in the yard and garden and made great use of the pool table, goals and basketball hoop. The house was also a great base for the week and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend.

  • "Brigid kindly left us some milk and butter for our arrival, and accommodated our lateness due to travel delays."

The property was spotlessly clean and adequately equipped. We knew that there wouldn't be any wi-fi, but were disappointed that the local mobile data services were very poor so had to go to the local town each day to keep up with business. We loved cosying up around the wood burning stove, and logs were generously provided, The pool table was great fun. Rather like the surface of the moon, for extra challenges. Brigid was charming and friendly, changed the heating to suit our parties needs, and gave us some tasty scones. Many thanks

Hi yes ye did know that Ballykeeffe did not have WiFi when booked Also about pool table it is for fun ,did replace covering twice but visitors perhaps did not know how to play and used table covering instead q and balls Thanks for review Brigid Property Owner

  • "My wife and I have just returned from our second stay at this wonderful old Irish farmhouse our only negative is two weeks wasn’t enough."

On this visit it really did feel like home It’s a wonderful old place with comfortable bedrooms where we slept like logs and we entertained lots of family and friends in the marvellous old formal dining room with its glorious open fire, such precious memories. We often sat outside at night stargazing or in the morning watching the sun rising, just simply taking in the beauty of the old place. And finally our hosts Brigid & Dan were truly the very best of Irish hospitality, It was marvellous returning from an outing to find maybe a head of cabbage or a box of apples at the back door or on the window sill a plate of some of Brigid’s famous scones Felt like old Ireland. God willing we will return in 2023 but for longer than two weeks. Patrick & Kate.

Thanks so much for review ,hope to see you and Kate in 2023 Thanks for lovely calendars much appreciated Dan Brigid Property Owner

It was simply the best. we had a wonderful holiday and God willing hope to return there later this year. It wasn’t just that Ballykeeffe farmhouse ticked all the important boxes, the place had a wonderful spirit and all members of our family who visited while we were there said the same, truly home from home. Finally we have to say that our hosts Brigid and Dan get the gold star ⭐️

  • "This beautiful cottage has everything needed for a perfect getaway."

The setting is just perfect in the heart of lush countryside and yet only a short drive to Kilkenny. We could have sat in the peaceful garden all day watching the swallows but we dragged ourselves away as there’s lots to see and do in the area. It was an absolute pleasure to meet and chat with our super hosts who have thought of everything one could need in a rural retreat, simply a slice of heaven.

  • "This is our second stay at Ballykeeffe Farm."

we were there in 2018. It is situated about 11 kilometers outside Kilkeeny in a beautiful area with small farms, cottages, small fields, cows, sheep, and yes .. rabbits! Brigid and Dan live up the lane in their house and dairy farm. They are very generous folk and take time to talk and exchange life's experiences. The holiday home is completely modern though furnished with antique furniture and wall hangings. The home is beautiful and from the outside looks like it belongs in the 19th century, but it is modern within. From time to time you get visits from Dan and Brigid and their two sheepdogs, Laddie and Ham, who are most affectionate and loving. If you want peace and quiet and room to breathe the glorious fresh air this is the place for you. Last year we were here with our 3 teenagers and there is even a game room with a pool table in one of the outhouses in the farmyard. This year there were just mom and dad as the teenagers are growing up and the two boys are lifeguards at the local pools. Kilkenny itself is a beautiful old market town off the main tourist track, but close to Waterford, New Ross, Wexford, and Cork. It is only 90 minutes from Dublin on the M10. Again, it was a great holiday once again!
