The outside is as beautiful as the inside. Pat, our host, was always at hand to lend is wealth of knowledge of the area to make sure we had the best holiday we could. It’s a perfect place to relax and discover the wonders of Ireland. I can’t recommend Maifield enough. We had an amazing holiday.

  • "Lovely house, well maintained and Pat, the owner, was very helpful throughout our stay."

Located on N76, Maifield is a good base for exploring the South East. But there is also a large patio and garden to sit and relax - in the event of the rain relenting long enough! There is access to a farm field for a quick walk of the dogs early or late and we found other good walks and trails at Castlemorris and Anne Valley.

The place was exactly as listed. We spent the most time in the large kitchen that was inviting and comfortable. Pat checked in everyday. Offered suggestions of where to visit. Our four days were glorious. Thanks Pat for opening your home to us!!

Beautifully maintained gardens and patio. Fabulous kitchen. Helpful and attentive host. Great base for touring the countryside, and lots to do all round. Only downside is proximity to the main road and the noise of traffic during the daytime.

Pat was great, welcoming us and on hand for advice, help and recommendations. The house was beautiful, spacious and clean. It was perfectly located for sightseeing and visiting family. We loved the gardens and the paddock next door to admire the horses. I totally recommend Maifield, it suited my large families needs and I would love to return again in a future trip. The house is surrounded by beautiful countryside and has everything a family could ask for. It is lovely and spacious with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. Great having the BBQ too. This house makes a wonderful base for a family break with a selection of attractions and entertainment for all ages close by. The host is friendly and a very relaxed person to deal with. He is extremely helpful and everything he recommended on the local attractions were excellent. The children also looked forward to feeding the ponies each day. There were four of us, but the house sleeps 9. We did not use the two sitting rooms, as we spent much of the time in the large kitchen. The beds were very comfortable. We would definitely return.

  • "My family group of 5 adults, 4 children and 1 dog really enjoyed our week long stay."

The owner Pat was very helpful with local information and made us feel very welcome (including delicious scones and jam on arrival). the house was perfect for our needs providing quiet rooms for the kids to play with toys away from the dog while having a fantastic family room for meals and family games. The garden is also big enough to allow the kids some outdoor play. Location wise its nicely situated between kilkenny and waterford giving less than 40mins to beaches, historical places, beautiful shopping and many play areas and natural beauty sites. All in all i would recommend a stay in this area and this particular house.

The location made travel to Kilkenny, Waterford, Cashel, Cork and Kerry easy. The owner Pat could not have been more helpful. Anything additional that we required for the house or for our travels he was more than happy to provide. We had our children and grandchildren stay with us and Pat brought up a pony to the field adjacent to the house for the grandchildren to pet and feed. All in all the family had a wonderful time. I highly recommend this house. Sincerely, William Holloway

  • "My stay at Maifield with my family was a lovely and relaxed experience."

Maifield was a beautiful, peaceful, comfortable and interesting home, with lots of space. It really was a home from home with all the facilities you would ever need. It was set amongst beautiful countryside, complete with stables, where we were lucky enough to witness the birth of a foal during our stay. Pat, the owner, was a great host. He greeted us at the property on arrival and showed us all around. We had access to everything at the property. Nothing was too much trouble for Pat, he was always very helpful. We loved spending time having a chat with Pat over a nice cup of tea. His partner, also called Pat, was a lovely lady who welcomed us to Maifield with delicious fruit scones on our arrival. They were a lovely couple who made us all feel extremely welcome. We all felt very much part of the family while we stayed there, and it was an absolute pleasure. The surrounding countryside was exquisite, and we enjoyed many country walks. The local village was about a mile down the road, with a shop and also an excellent bakery, with freshly made home baked bread and cakes every day. I would thoroughly recommend a stay at Maifield. Staying at Maifield was just wonderful, and I cannot wait to return for another holiday.
