The village of Balla boasts many shops and pubs and welcomes visitors with open arms. The village is situated between the towns of Castlebar and Claremorris and is surrounded by rolling hills and fields, which offer excellent walking and cycling routes. Why not spend a day in Castlebar, a town bursting with personality and culture? Alternatively take a short drive to the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life, a large collection of important objects and artefacts of old rural living, housed in a superb building and surrounded by delightful gardens. Set off on a day trip to Sligo and explore the historic sites and sandy beaches on offer, plus the town is famed for its excellent surf school, and cuisine. The harbour town of Westport, another delightful heritage town, resting at the foot of Croagh Patrick, is within easy reach and is a popular tourist destination. Balla is a small village in the centre of County Mayo between Castlebar and Claremorris, which makes it a superb location for visiting this region of Ireland. The village has a number of local pubs which offer a variety of entertainment including Irish music and Ceilis. Nearby Claremorris offers a range of shops, pubs and restaurants and family activities, while a short drive away, the vibrant and lively city of Galway offers lots for guests to see and do. Connemara National Park is located in Galway and is home to wonderful species of wildlife, including the famous Connemara Pony, while Lough Mask and Lough Corrib are great for fishing.
