About the location

Grange, County Sligo

Sligo 10 miles.

The village of Grange in County Sligo is the starting point for a spectacular drive through the Gleniff Horseshoe with its limestone cliffs in the valley between the Truskmore and Kings Mountains. Grange is at the foot of the Dartry Mountain range with its distinctively shaped Benbulben Mountain which is known worldwide as the symbol of County Sligo. Created by glaciers during the Ice Age, Benbulben Mountain is home to a fascinating range of flora and fauna including a number of species that in Ireland are only found on its slopes. The county town of Sligo is 10 miles away and contains an array of shops, bars and restaurants. Its name derives from the Gaelic word Sligeach, meaning Shelly River due to the abundance of shellfish in the waters around the town.

This is the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. Aside from the location which had amazing views, and was easily accessed from all of the local attractions, this cottage was the best equipped we have ever stayed in. The upkeep of the cottage was to a very high standard, and the facilities were excellent, down to the supply of spare lightbulbs, washing materials and soap etc. We would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to friends and family, and have already done so. We would absolutely book this cottage again in the future if we were to go back to the same region.
