The pretty village of Tinahely, with a pub and shop, is also home to The Courthouse Arts Centre, which hosts musical performances, artist exhibitions, and play and film screenings. This area of Wicklow is the ideal base from which to plan an angling holiday. Wild Brown Trout are plentiful in the rivers and lakes of the Wicklow Mountains. For the sea angler, Bass, Smooth Hound, Tope and Grey Mullet to name but a few can be targeted from the local coastline. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy horse riding, golf, Wicklow Way Walking and beaches nearby, while the local town Aughrim, voted best town in Ireland, is very old and picturesque with several shops and pubs to explore. Nearby Avoca is home to the TV series, Ballykissangel, and Avoca hand-weaving and craft shops. Daisy Cottage is a wonderful retreat with original beamed ceilings throughout and a cosy woodburner in the living area. This spacious accommodation has been lovingly restored with quality finishes, warmth and charm, boasting fine views of rolling hills and distant valleys. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the excellent walking, horse riding, golf, and river and sea angling, or why not take a gentle stroll along one of the beaches or through the picturesque towns of both Aughrim and Avoca with their many craft shops and pubs playing traditional Irish music?
