  • "The cottage is one of my favourites and I'd love to return."

Set in the heart of Exmoor in the owners own land which they encourage you to use freely, including their own garden with a magnificent pond. The cottage is well equipped and deceptively large for a one bedroomed place. The area has so much to offer and a week simply wasn't long enough to see everything. Thanks so much Jo and Adrian.

Hi Lynda. Many thanks for your lovely feedback. We hope you had a good trip home and very much look forward to seeing you again. Jo and Adrian Property Owner

  • "The property owners were very open and friendly and even allowed us to wander around their own large garden and pick fruit from the shared garden."

We did raise an issue with them on departure regarding four very large spiders in the property and as my wife is an arachnophobe it was not the best of experiences and we did not agree with the practice of leaving doors and windows open between guests visits as this allows the spiders and fly's which were also in the property to get in. The wi-fi was also intermittent in operation and did not link up with the tv to allow catch up tv, this I did not mention as it seemed irrelevant at the time. On a positive note the property was very comfortable, spacious with all the facilities from home to home. The shower was very good and the bed mattress excellent. So many properties we hire have appallingly cheap mattresses and you wake up in the morning in agony. This mattress was first class and allowed us a good nights sleep (apart from the spider worries).

Hi Andrew. Many thanks for your feedback, and really pleased you had an overall comfortable stay. It is extremely important that properties are fully aired in between guests, and ever since covid is general practice. We have not had any previous feedback on issue's with spiders, but have now ordered some spider repellent plugs. It does seem a bad year for insects, as reported on TV. Great you loved the mattress. They are locally sourced from Relyon which is based in Wellington Somerset. Property Owner

Sadly the photos don't give you the feeling of peacefulness and calm that you do get when you're there. Perfect place to bring your dog. Owners were so welcoming, couldn't ask for anything more!

  • "We had a lovely stay at Middle Burrow."

The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. Adrian and Jo were warm and helpful, and we really enjoyed Jo's homemade jam and marmalade. Having an enclosed garden at the front was ideal for our dog, and made it very easy for us to settle with the doors open due to the hot weather.

The homemade lemon sponge cake in the welcome pack was a lovely touch and it was outstanding. Also the folder that the owners had put together regarding places to visit based on their own experiences was a brilliant idea.I wish more cottage owners would do this instead of leaving out of date pamphlets and brochures. They really put alot of thought into it.I would recommend this cottage to anyone.
