  • "The Harbour Hideaway is in a great location, and we had no issues with the self check-in and check-out process."

    We drove to Dartmouth and had no trouble finding parking nearby. Dropping off our luggage was easy, as the street is very quiet — which was a plus, especially since the bedroom faces the front. However, the property did have some downsides. There was a noticeable damp, musty smell throughout, and the overall feel of the space reminded us of student accommodation. The bedroom itself was fine, and since we were only using it for sleeping, it was manageable. Unfortunately, the shower room was in poor condition — the drain appeared to be blocked, causing the shower to fill with water. The kitchen also felt a bit unclean and could benefit from a refresh. We brought our very well-behaved dog with us, so the small courtyard was appreciated. That said, it could use a proper sweep, as debris was often tracked back inside. Overall, while the location and check-in were convenient, the interior and overall feel of the property mean we likely wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes.
