• "Had an amazing stay at the Mews and would love to go back again."

  Warm welcome with smiles from the owners and lots of information and scones with clotted cream and jam. Owners are very helpful and friendly. The Mews is fully equipped and spotlessly clean, the photos don't do it justice, and it's perfect for exploring Dartmoor and nearby Torquay and beaches. My daughter loved feeding the lambs on site with farmer Geoff, who was brilliant with her. Cannot fault the mews and it's owners who went out of their way to make our little break memorable. Thank you so much. Can't recommend the mews highly enough.

• "We had a lovely stay at the Mews."

  A very warm welcome from Andy and Charmaine - home-baked scones (delicious), helpful tips on the apartment and local area and friendly chats through the week. The apartment was really comfortable and kitted out with all we needed. Great location surrounded by nature (lots of bird varieties, cute lambs and sheep and we even saw a couple of fawns on the lane early one morning!), close enough to Bovey for shops and activities and a short drive to Dartmoor for wilder exploration.

  Central position for Dartmoor and surrounding areas. Accommodation very comfortable and well appointed, with every modern convenience required.Local pub,Claycutters Arms 4mins drive away.Exellent food and atmosphere.

• "We stayed at the Mews while visiting family in the area for Christmas."

  The annexe was very comfortable, immaculately clean and welcoming - and it was very well equipped. Andy and Charmaine went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay, including putting up Christmas decorations and very kindly baking us a Christmas cake! The Mews is close to local amenities and well situated for lots of great local walks which our two dogs absolutely loved. Thanks again for being so welcoming Andy and Charmaine! We hope to be back again soon.

• "We had a wonderful week at The Mews ."

  The property was very clean and well furnished. The bed was comfortable and the views were nice. The owners lived next door and are friendly without being obtrusive. Milk and scones with cream and jam were in the apartment when we arrived. Fresh vegetables were given to us and was a wonderful gesture. We would be happy to return.

• "We had a fantastic stay at The Mews, the property was spotlessly clean and very well equipped."

  Charmaine and Andy were very friendly and welcoming and the homemade scones and jam was a lovely surprise. The freshly picked tomatoes and cucumber also went down a treat! Would definitely recommend.

• "Superb accommodation in a tranquil location."

  Owners very friendly but not intrusive. Welcome pack including scones and clotted cream went down well! Weather was awful ( a months rain in one day!) but always nice to get back to accommodation and relax. Thank you Charmaine and Andy for a lovely week.

• "The property was very well maintained and was really comfortable."

  The owners were very nice and scones were delicious. The downside for us was that the garden was not fully enclosed and not allowing the dogs to wee or poop in the garden was a bit unusual. We book cottages twice a year with gardens, for the ease of taking dogs. The latter element drives the rating given.

We prefer to keep the lawn excrement free in view of the fact we have guests with young children, often playing on the grass. • "Brilliant cottage, great location to access seaside towns and Dartmoor."

  Hosts were fantastic and kind to leave us with treats on arrival and some delights from the garden through the week. Their gardens are immaculate and the duck pond next door was the highlight for our two year old. Would definitely stay here again.

• "Lovely cottage in a lovely, quiet place but only a short drive into Bovey Tracey."

  A real home from home and the owners (who live next door) Andy and Charmaine are perfect hosts. We had a cream tea, fresh eggs and milk awaiting us in arrival and so an excellent start! The beds are comfy and the linen and towels are sumptuous. The kitchen has all you need including a full size fridge freezer and dishwasher. We will definitely be back.

• "The Mews is situated on a smallholding and surrounded by countryside."

  It is set in a very tranquil setting. The apartment itself is exceptional and tastefully decorated with everything that you need. Charmaine and Andy are exceptional hosts and very welcoming.   All the facilities were first class, the bed and the sofas were very comfortable. Our hosts were available to help with questions and suggestions and there was a very helpful list of local amenities provided. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Mews to anyone visiting south Devon So full marks from Alison and Terry Jenner!!

  ... This property is really special - situated in a tranquil setting but not far from all the local amenities. The hosts go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. Everything within the cottage is of high quality and well thought out. • "My friend and I stayed in The Mews for 7 nights and I have to say we had a wonderful time!"

  I hope to stay here again. The house was clean and comfortable and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. The house is well equipped and there is a lovely fireplace which we used most nights. The house is a comfortable temperature anyway without using the fireplace. A very modern bathroom and a modern country house feel throughout the property. The house stands on at an excellent location, set back from the main roads and amongst a pleasant farm. Bovey Tracey is nearby. My friend and I visited Dartmoor National Park on every day of the trip. The views from the main bedroom window are lovely, looking over green space where wildlife can sometimes be seen. I hope to stay here again.

• "We had a great 5 days at The Mews and found it to be comfortable with everything we needed."

  Andy and Charmaine are friendly and very hospitable but not intrusive. The apartment was warm with plenty of hot water and very quiet. Our visit was in mid October and being keen walkers we found the location handy for coast and moor. On a clear night the stars are amazing as this is a dark sky area.

• "Four adults and one dog enjoyed a very comfortable week in The Mews."

  Andy and Charmaine were very friendly and welcoming but didn’t crowd us at all. The Mews is in a good location and feels remote enough to be peacefully quiet but only 15 mins away from Bovey Tracey and shops. Ducks and geese were our neighbours! Ideal for a recharging holiday. Nice and clean, very warm with plenty of hot water. The outside tap is a real bonus for washing muddy paws after walkies. Dog leg-stretching a little bit limited without walking down the lane but Andy mentioned plans to expand the fenced area which would give dog-guests more space to roam. He also offered to dog-sit if we wanted to go out, which although we didn’t need to take advantage of this time is still really appreciated. Lovely fresh scones (huge!), a pot of jam and clotted cream awaited us on arrival which started our Devon holiday in the best way. We look forward to our next visit!

• "We absolutely loved the Mews."

  Extremely comfortable and relaxing place to be. Andy and I Charmaine are lovely people. They even left us scones, jam and clotted cream on arrival. • "Excellent stay from start to finish."

  Owners are extremely welcoming and friendly and go out of the way to make sure you are welcome and have everything you need. Accommodation is excellent, spotless, best nights sleep in a long time in the comfortable beds. Location is lovely and not noisy despite being on a working farm. Great for exploring the local sights of which there are many. Would highly recommend. A+++
