A short drive from the cottage leads into Brixham, a busy harbour town, where it is customary to watch the local fishermen land their catch.
The harbour front is flanked by a selection of family-run bars and bistros offering fresh fish and the finest of local produce.
A short walk along the coastal path leads to a medley of pretty beaches and coves, as well as the ever-popular seawater swimming pool at Shoalstone.
Take the ferry to Dartmouth, which has a good reputation for fashionable restaurants, interesting boutiques and of course, all the activity along the waterfront.

Galmpton is a lovely village between Paignton and Brixham, in a beautiful area known as Greenway, where there are well-maintained footpaths with stunning views of the River Dart, and opportunities for ferry rides along the river towards Dartmouth. Galmpton offers a shop and village pub. The heart of the village is positioned in a small basin-like area near to the River Dart, on a part of the river known as Dittisham Lake, with single track roads feeding out on all sides leading to villages and seaside resorts of Paignton and Brixham. Also close by is the most popular resort of Torquay, the hub of The English Riviera.
