“Our first reaction on entering ...”Our first reaction on entering April Cottage was...its tiny. However, we quickly changed that to cosy. Beautifully clean, it lacked nothing in the way of equipment . Very comfortable seating , good lighting, lots of crockery and glasses even though there were just 2 of us. We had the sense that the owners had been very thoughtful about what makes an attractive comfortable holiday home. Its location was perfect for exploring Exmoor. The only lack was Wifi. This delightful cottage is set beside the River Washford and is ideal for a couple looking to explore this wonderful area.
The cottage lies on the old West Somerset Mineral Line, nowadays a cycleway/walkway to Washford passing through spectacular unspoilt Somerset countryside.
This cosy holiday home offers comfortable accommodation and has an open plan living area with a woodburner, great for cooler evenings, a glass of wine and a good book.

Four miles away is Watchet harbour and the magnificent Somerset coastline.
Why not take the steam train from Washford and enjoy the ride to Minehead with its delightful seafront, sandy beach and array of shops?
Alternatively visit the quaint village of Dunster, which has a wealth of historic buildings including an 11th century National Trust-owned castle.
