A pair of cosy apartments in a converted barn adjacent to a country house restaurant and bar on the outskirts of Hartland, a pretty village 3 miles from the dramatic north west Devon coast. These Hartland cottages are ideal for small groups looking for a quiet, rural escape near the coast, with the added attraction of alpacas, rare breed chickens, call ducks and pygmy goats. There are also two fishing lakes, one for coarse fishing with rudd, tench and carp and the other for trout. These Hartland cottages have a cosy feel, with traditional décor and open plan sitting rooms which look out onto a courtyard shared with the bar and restaurant. Guests are free to wander the 3-acre site with meadows, woodland and BBQ area, and there is a large terrace with plenty of tables and chairs, a perfect place to take some refreshment. Why not wander down to the village of Hartland less than half a mile away where there are shops, a quay and lighthouse? The dramatic coastline from Hartland to Bude offers fabulous walking opportunity and there are sandy beaches and picturesque fishing villages such as Clovelly scattered along the Devon coastline. A peaceful retreat that is away from it all, but is close to many tourist attractions.

The bustling village of Hartland, with its colourful quay and lighthouse, provides visitors with a wide selection of amenities, including an interesting craft shop, good pubs and several great places to eat. Just one mile out of the village, situated within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, lies Hartland Abbey, where visitors can peruse the stunning collection of paintings and porcelain before relaxing in the Abbey's beautiful gardens. Alternatively the nearby coastal headland of Berry Head, with its dramatic cliffs and caves, offers excellent walking and nature watching opportunities. The pretty, car-free village of Clovelly lies just five miles away and is renowned for its flower-strewn cottages, steep cobbled streets and 14th century harbour, whilst a short drive leads to a fun-packed and educational family day out at The Big Sheep, a fantastic adventure park. The unspoilt coastal resorts of Bude and Bideford are both within 15 miles making this a superb base for a varied and enjoyable holiday.
