Nearby Hartland Forest encompasses hundreds of acres of Forestry Commission woodland, whilst just 5 miles away lies the village of Clovelly, renowned for its flower-strewn cottages and steep cobbled footpath leading down to the 14th Century harbour. Much of the seashore from Bideford to Bude is part of the National Trust’s Heritage Coastline with its breathtaking walks and dramatic cliffs at Hartland Quay just 6 miles away. Watersports enthusiasts are also well catered for, with surfing lessons available at Bude, and the watersports centre at Tamar Lakes.

The lodge was set in lovely grounds, with lots of space and quiet. We had lots of space in the lodge and enjoyed the home comforts too! It was a novelty to be living in a lodge! It was a beautiful area to stay in with many walks in the area and stunning scenery.

The lodge was excellent, spacious clean and well stocked. The grounds around the lodge were brilliant as we have two small children and they had freedom to play outside as much as they liked. My daughter especially liked the ducks. The views were also very impressive. We would definitely go back!
