  • "I love this place."

Even though the weather wasn’t great the cottage is so welcoming and cozy. It’s full of character and had everything we needed. The beds are comfortable and every night was great nights sleep. The dog loved walks around the farm, my daughter loves the chickens. It was nice to sit and watch the birds, and then the stars. New TV is a great addition, and there is a good WiFi signal. Only downside is the water pressure for the shower, but fully accept the age of the buildings etc, and for me adds to the overall feel. Mr and Mrs Hunt are lovely, and always nice to chat with. The scones on arrival were amazing. Such and interesting place and full of charm. Looking forward to heading back in April for another relaxing week of peace and quiet.

  • "Where can we start!"

What a wonderful break and a beautiful cottage over looking the rolling hills of Parkham. We have 3 young children (6 and 8 year old twins) and they loved the farm and the waking up the the sheep on the fields beside the cottage. The two chickens are child friendly and the children loved holding and feeding them. Most of all Susan and Tom (or as our children referred to him as Farmer Tom) were amazing with the children and always on hand for help or advice on things to do on a rainy day. You could not get anyone better than them. A few nights where rather cold so we lit the fire and listened to the peace and quite outside. If you get lost on route google map it and drop a pin this is the easiest way to find the cottage. We will definitely look to return here as it was so peaceful and beautiful. Also a great location for the busier places such at Bideford and Westward Ho. Thanks again to Tom and Susan for such a memorable holiday.

Mr and Mrs Hunt were so friendly and very kindly put out the sheep for the children to enjoy. They also left some lovely scones, cream and jam on our arrival day. The property was very clean and well looked after, the master bedroom mattress was very comfy much better than ours at home. We loved the traditional vibe of the property, it was very homely and made us feel very happy. It was the perfect holiday cottage for us, close to Bideford and all the tourist destinations such as appledore, Saunton beach and Lynton and Lynmouth a bit further along the coast. The wi-fi was fairly good and it was nice to not have phone signal and be non contactable from the outside world. We would definitely stay again at this property, hopefully next year if I can get the right time off. Thank you Mr and Mrs Hunt, we all loved the cottage and hope to be back in the near future.

However, you feel like you're a million miles away from the hustle and bustle. Surrounded by beautiful, well kept gardens and countryside. The cottage is very clean, comfy and inviting. Filled with quite simplistic items, but this just added to the charm. The owners were so welcoming, as were the locals. We were a family of 2 adults, 2 teens and a 6 year old, we all thoroughly enjoyed. We would definitely go back again and highly recommend. We were lucky enough to have some sunny days which we spent in the beautiful garden watching the sheep, chickens and plethora of birds on the feeder. Walks from the door which was ideal for our dog as well as running. The owners Tom and Sue were lovely and always on hand. The scones jam and cream were delicious. We were planning a return visit on day 2! Well equipped kitchen which was handy as lots of pubs had shut for winter or only open for limited times. The wifi was excellent, so although no mobile reception you can enable wifi calling if needed. Our 12 year old had no problems playing games on her iPad. The TV remote was a bit temperamental and a couple of large drinking glasses would have been useful but overall 10/10. Thank you for a perfect escape!

The cottage is beautifully situated in a lovely valley and the quiet is wonderful ! It's easy to stroll up to the village (and The Bell Inn is excellent and were well organised during these strange times). We found North Devon a delight. Not too crowded, lovely sandy beaches within an easy distance, good body-boarding to be had and lovely walks. The description of lawned garden with furniture is mis leading. The garden area is on a slope with one bench. The highlight of the holiday for me were their hens. They are so friendly and funny. They come running up to you to greet you. Six sweet chickens. The whole place in very clean and the beds were comfortable. If you want shops and entertainment this place is not for you. The nearest shop is in Bideford ,a car ride away. Only thing that I didn't like was that there is a log burning fire and although it wasn't lit we all could smell soot in the living room.
