This modern detached cottage is situated in the grounds of the owners’ home, in an idyllic, rural setting in a hamlet near Shurton, a village in North Somerset.

Situated near The Quantock Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the property is also just one mile from a quiet, unspoilt beach and within a few miles of Steart Marshes, a nature reserve that is frequented by rare bird species all year, making it perfect for birdwatchers.

This spacious cottage attracts the sun all day long and has an open plan living space that looks out onto the garden, with a well-fitted kitchen, a dining area for four and a double sofa bed.

There is a ground floor shower room, plus an en-suite twin bedroom on the first floor, making the cottage ideal for two to four guests.

Enjoy a drink or some food in one of the good pubs that can be found within a mile or two of the cottage and the little beach is just a thirty minute walk away, making it perfect for picnics in the summer.

Nearby, the Bridgwater Bay National Nature Reserve is a vast area of wetlands, with numerous other bird reserves in this area of Somerset run by the RSPB and the Somerset Wildlife Trust.

There are plentiful walks in and around the Quantock Hills and a short drive from the cottage takes you to Exmoor and the North Somerset beaches at Blue Anchor, Watchet and Minehead.

This quiet, rural cottage is easily accessible to a range of outdoor activities.

The popular village of Shurton lies approximately nine miles North West of Bridgwater near the beautiful Quantock Hills and the Somerset coastline, with a welcoming country pub and a restaurant. Nearby, the village of Stogursey offers a range of useful amenities, including a friendly pub frequented by the locals, a Post Office and shops. This idyllic, rural area of Somerset is popular with keen walkers and cyclists, who enjoy exploring The Coleridge Way. This stunning, long distance trail leads through the Quantock Hills, the Brendon Hills and Exmoor, a landscape that inspired Coleridge to produce some of his best-known poetry. A visit to Shurton Bars Beach is a must, with a small, sandy foreshore, pretty rock pools and outstanding views across the Bristol Channel to South Wales and the Brecon Beacons. The Steart Marshes nature reserve is extensive and consists largely of tidal mudflats and saltmarsh, a haven for waterfowl and unusual waders. For fishermen, the local Burton Springs Fishery is one of Somerset's finest and most tranquil fisheries.
