The owners were most pleasant and we appreciated the delicious cake on arrival. Although there is no washing machine in the actual cottage which would have been a bonus, we were aware of this from the description and also that the owner would be happy to do laundry upon request. Facilities in the kitchen are excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the use of a private garden after a day of sightseeing. We would definitely recommend this cottage and hope to return at some time.

  • "The owners were very welcoming and the cottage was very nice."

The welcome biscuits etc were a nice touch. The cottage would benefit from having its own washing machine in it, the owner said she would use her own washing machine to wash our clothing but I found that unacceptable so took twelve days washing home with me. Having to ask to borrow a dvd from the owners list provided seemed odd, in the past when we’ve stayed in previous properties the dvds or cds have been left in the cottage for the holiday maker to use at will. Found this most unusual! Enjoyed our stay and it served it’s purpose for the R and R we required.

I'm disappointed to see your feedback as we make every effort to ensure our guests have a lovely stay. I take great care to clean thoroughly, and have always received great feedback. It's a shame we weren't able to fit a washing machine into our cottage I agree, but this is clearly detailed in our listing. Due to size constraints we had to choose between a dishwasher or a washing machine, we felt that a dishwasher would be more useful and I have on many occasions done washing for our guests at no charge. Our facilities are accurately and honestly listed so I'm sorry if there was a misunderstanding. Regarding DVDs and CDs, I have been advised that I would be in breach of copyright legislation if I were to leave DVDs and CDs in the cottage hence the arrangement. Property Owner

My wife and I went with our two year old and we had such a lovely time. The owner Vicky was so helpful and welcoming and was there when you needed but left us to ourselves and gave us the complete break that we much needed. The weather wasn’t great but it made no difference to us as the cottage and surroundings made it so comfortable. It has everything you need, including a lovely little log burner for those chillier nights and a lovely garden opposite for when the sun does come out. The bed was extremely comfortable and the decor of the cottage made it feel so clean and cosy. The rural Somerset parish of Sutton Mallet can be found on the low lying land known as Sedgemoor on the Somerset Levels, nestling at the foot of the Polden Hills, six miles from the bustling town of Bridgwater. The Somerset Levels are an Area of Special Scientific Interest, a marshy area intersected by water channels which stretch from the Mendip Hills as far as Taunton, and are internationally renowned for wintering wildfowl and provide a habitat for numerous species of breeding birds. The flat landscape offers great cycling routes, with lovely walks to be had across the nearby nature reserves where you could be rewarded with a view of some rare bird species. The village makes an excellent touring base, with numerous attractions catering for all tastes within a short drive, including a shopaholics paradise at Clarks Shopping Village in Street, and mystical Glastonbury, famous for its Abbey, Tor, and annual music festival. Alternatively, visit the UK’s smallest city of Wells with its beautiful cathedral, the beaches at Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-Super-Mare, spooky Wookey Hole Caves, and Cheddar Gorge, as all are easily accessible.
