The Property

Part of the original dairy, this attractive barn conversion is attached to the owners’ home on the edge of the quiet Devon village of Uffculme, in the Culme Valley. This Uffculme cottage is approached by a private farm track, through Devon meadows, leading to the rear of the property with plenty of off road parking and a garden with seating area. Ideal for a couple or for families wanting to get away from it all, this Uffculme cottage is all on the ground floor and has a large sitting room with a comfy sofa and plenty of character, including exposed beams, high ceilings and a woodburner: perfect for a relaxing evening in front of the fire. In addition there is a well-equipped kitchen with dining area and a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Outside this Devon cottage there is a private patio with furniture: a lovely peaceful spot to admire the surrounding countryside. The local shop and pub are both just a ten minute walk from this Uffculme cottage, and the riverside village has plenty to offer, including Coldharbour Mill, which is the only surviving woollen mill in Devon and has a fascinating working museum. In nearby Tiverton, why not take a trip exploring the Grand Western Canal onboard a traditional horse-drawn barge - the last horse-drawn barge in the south west? At Bickleigh Mill, visitors can see an 18th century working watermill, take a ride on a narrow gauge railway or have a Devon cream tea in the traditional tea rooms; a wonderful day out for the whole family. This Uffculme cottage is a great base to explore beautiful rural Devon.
