  • "Very good. As a family of 6 we would have like more cutlery so there was two sets each, a pair of scissors and another chopping knife, and another couple of toilet rolls and tea towels."

The property was clean spacious with a lovely garden, in a great location, the beds were comfortable. It was really sunny on a couple of days despite only being the beginning of Easter. It would have been nice to have 6 outside chairs so we could all sit in the garden together.

  • "Missing a wheelie bin to put my rubbish in."

And the iron didn’t work so we had to go out and buy one would’ve been nice if there was a mop there as well to clean the kitchen floor because the kitchen floor was very sticky when we arrived and there was a nappy in a nappy bag outside the front door maybe from the last people that were there but on the whole it was like the pictures and we had an amazing time in the house. Location was amazing less than a minute away from the sea and the beach

  • "The location of this house was excellent but our arrival was spoilt by having to wash up cups and saucepans before we could do anything."

The kitchen is stocked with so much stuff it was difficult to know what was clean enough to use. We also had to vacuum the floor upon arrival and clean the dining table and chairs. The garden was unwelcoming and patio areas had not been swept in some time, and the furniture was very tatty.. We were unable to change the temperature on the shower, the sheets did not fit the mattresses and we were unable to log in to the WIFI on any device. We had a lovely holiday because we spent our time away from the house and enjoyed the Isle of Wight immensely.

We take your feedback onboard and the cleaning company we use have been informed, including the linen which is outsourced. I am sorry you did not take the opportunity to have the cleaners return on the day of your arrival after I spoke to you. Wi-Fi has been checked and is working, password is in the welcome text and also on the back of the box. We endeavour to provide our guests with a home from home, guests usually enjoy our well equipped kitchen. We are happy you was able to enjoy the beautiful Isle of wight! Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic stay at Chinefields."

The house is lovely and so well equipped, just a perfect week. We were very lucky with the weather and the location is simply amazing. It was our first holiday with our ten month old baby and everything was so easy for him and, more importantly, for us! Having the travel cot and high chair in the house made everything really straightforward and he had a very happy stay. Such great walks in every direction and we couldn’t have had a better week. We’ll definitely be back.

Thank you for your wonderful comments. so happy you enjoyed the house and its facilities. I hope your first holiday with your baby created special memories for you on this wonderful island. Hope you return soon! Property Owner

  • "We were very disappointed with the quality of cleaning, especially as we had been told we couldn't enter the property until 5p."

    M. because of the extra cleaning that would be needed due to Covid. We were led to understand that the fridge/freezer would be emptied so that we could put our own food in. The freezer was so frosted up you could hardly open the top draw, but even if it had been properly defrosted, we would have been unable to get a single item in, as it was packed full with the last guests food items. I don't think it was fair to assume that on my arrival, I would clear out the fridge/freezer. I have certainly never had to do this at any other cottage I have stayed in. There was also yoghurts and a half empty carton of juice in the quite grubby fridge. The dishwasher also had not been emptied. The information I received indicated that as a guest, I should make sure these things were sorted out before I left the property. I think the previous guests should have been more considerate, but as that wasn't the case, I would have expected the cleaners to have corrected it as part of the extra cleaning they were supposed to be doing.

Thank you for your feedback. I am very sorry for your disappointment regarding food left in fridge/freezer, this must have been a rare oversight. Our cleaners usually work to a very high standard and would have rectified the situation immediately if they or I had been contacted. I hope it did not spoil your holiday in the beautiful Isle of Wight. Property Owner

Really close to the beach which was lovely-quiet, sandy with interesting rock pools and clear water. Very friendly and communicative owner.

  • "Fantastic property, so clean and well prepared for holiday makers."

Location was spot on enabling us to take kids to the beach and carry home cold and wet children and stick them straight in the bath. Garden is lovely and secure enabling kids to play happily. Kitchen is well equipped and lovely touch of welcome teabags etc; Beds are comfortable and plenty of storage for clothes. Only minor downside was the bedrooms are very light so if travelling with kids I’d suggest you take portable gro-anywhere blackout blinds to darken the room for bedtime. We walked to Alum Bay to visit the needles and it took around 90mins along the coastal path (with kids aged 2-6), also visiting the Hut for a meal is a must (but remember to book early).
