  • "Beautiful cottage, immaculate inside and very comfortable."

Everything you could need in the kitchen. Wi-Fi was great, plenty of hot water and comfortable beds. Great location for travelling around Dorset.

  • "The barn as lovely but there was no indication of the different levels ( a big drop to the kitchen area ,a different level from living to dining area & a step in 1 bedroom ) & steps in the initial information only by email 2 days before we went ."

It would be very difficult for any with mobility issues .We were ok indoors but my husband found the deep steps up to the property door difficult as there is no handrail.

  • "We were very happy with Six Horse Barn."

It was spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, very well equipped and with a homely ambiance, (although tall people might find the foot-board at the bottom of the bed, a bit problematic). The owner was very helpful and friendly. Lots to see and do within a short driving distance. Pubs and restaurants nearby and roundabout. If we ever return to this area, we would be happy to stay here again.

Most of all it was a huge bonus that the property owner was available on site to assist with any further requirements. Throughly enjoyed our holiday and would very much recommend.

Also quiet, yet close enough to a main road to explore the area. The owner popped round for a chat and to check we were ok, which was really nice. The only tricky bit was the shower temperature: one didn’t get very warm and the other needed fine control to stop it getting too hot.

I didn't see 1 clock in the property so that would be helpful.

I am saddened that you didn't enjoy your holiday in Dorset. The weather was awful and I am sure that must have been difficult for you. I have noted your comments and provided a screen for the front door and a radio alarm clock in the main bedroom. The cottage has been almost continually let over the last six months and the overall rating for that period, which includes your review, was 96/100. Property Owner

Negatives: odd smell in twin bedroom, no blind/curtain in kitchen window or across front door which is plain glass to give privacy, quite a few flies, main bedroom felt a bit cramped with dressing table, garden furniture needs a clean, can hear dogs barking around 8am. Hence why 4 stars rather than 5. Overall we had a lovely stay and would recommend/stay again.

Our nearly teenage son loved the excellent WiFi!! Lovely owners too, and couldn’t fault their commitment to keeping the cottage clean and safe during the COVID pandemic. • "We are seasoned travellers and Six Horse Barn is the best cottage we have stayed in for many reasons."

First of all is the owner Gail, she is on-site to help out if need but never intrudes. She is friendly, professional and nothing is too much trouble for her. The cottage is centrally located for all the attractions you may wish to visit in Dorset. It is spacious and well stocked with all the essentials you might need for your self catering holiday. Within the cottage, everything is of good quality, unlike some places who use cheap and uncomfortable products and items. A great deal of care has been taken to ensure guests comfort. Outside is a small self contained garden with table and chairs, and a washing line for your laundry. Wi-Fi connection was excellent. There is a couple of pubs, take-away and convenience store close-by if required. Cleanliness is second to none; so important during this time of the pandemic. The cottage is fogged at the beginning of professional cleaning, and then fogged again when cleaning is completed. A hand sanitiser machine is situated at the entrance of the cottage. Overall we would strongly recommend you stay at Six Horse Barn, it will always be a firm favourite with us.

It has all the amenities that you would need at a holiday let. My only disappointment was the double bed was a little on the hard side (nothing a mattress topper wouldn't sort out). However, I would recommend this place as a fab place to stay.

  • "Generally very happy with our Dorset cottage, lovely location for visiting the area just minutes from the beautiful Lulworth cove!"

When we first booked there was no image of the living room so I was concerned it would be tiny but I shouldn’t have worried it’s HUGE and open plan onto the separate kitchen/dining area and very nicely decorated. The only tiny negative is the rear garden was very small, and not terribly private, I think the photos make it seem enormous but we spent most of our time out and about anyway. The owner lives onsite and always seemed happy to help, she has a nice plant nursery on the grounds you can walk round.
