Dorchester 1.5 miles.
The attractive scattered community of Charminster is set in the valley of the River Cerne, surrounded by glorious, unspoilt countryside. It is served by a shop and pub, yet just one and a half miles away is the bustling market town of Dorchester, with its Roman roads, museums and a wide selection of pubs and restaurants. Enjoy a scenic walk around Maiden Castle, the largest hill fort in England, or visit the County Museum, which has a room devoted to Thomas Hardy, born just two miles away in Bockhampton. Just seven miles away are the glorious gently shelving beaches and picturesque harbour of Weymouth, and the rugged peninsula of Portland, linked to the mainland by Chesil Beach, part of the breathtaking World Heritage Coastline. In fact, you’ll find yourself so intoxicated by Dorset’s magic spell, you won’t want to return home at the end of your stay!

It is really a beautiful little house with excellent equipment.
Mr Schwoerer, Rust, June 2012
The location was excellent - so near to areas of interest but far enough away from the hustle and bustle allowing for a very relaxing break. The garden was a pleasant surprise, well laid out and private. Fresh eggs also on hand as there is a chicken farm next door, yummy!
Ms Jones, Barry, April 2012

Mrs Mitchem, Sevenoaks, September 2011
The Coachouse was lovely, very well stocked. Quiet & relaxing. The main bedroom was spacious and very comfortable.
Mrs West, Eastbourne, September 2011
The house was situated in a quiet position and enabled us to tour around Dorset on a daily basis. The owners were friendly and stated if we needed anything they were there to help.
We found the lower ground style appropriate for our family needs since we have a young child. There was plenty of space for us all to move around. The facilities within the house were similar to our own home so that made the standard of living no problem to adjust to. If you want a quiet location with privacy then there is no better choice.
Mr Darby, Birmingham, August 2011
Great place. Fresh eggs every morning, convenient to main towns but without the hassle.
Mr Jones, Burry Port, August 2011
It was peaceful and quiet. There was lots of room and the owners were friendly. The location was excellent - well placed to visit the many attractions in that part of Dorset. We fully intend to return at some stage in the future.
