This quirky solid oak shepard’s hut is set in its own garden, in the grounds of the owners’ home, on the edge of the village of Compton Dundon, three miles from the town of Somerton and close to Glastonbury.
An ideal base for a couple with a bijou interior, you will be hard to find a more fitting romantic retreat for exploring Somerset.
After parking your car on the drive close to Duck Hut you will instantly fall in love with this charming holiday home.
You enter this wonderful hut via four steps and through double doors into an open plan studio layout with a pull-down fully sprung double bed, that can be put away to be replaced with a dining area.
There’s a kitchenette next to the bed along with a warming woodburner.
Is there a better place to relax than to light the woodburner and enjoy a drink with your loved one after a fun-filled day exploring the area?
In a separate room within the hut and completing the accommodation is a shower room.
Outside is a private lawned garden with flower beds where you can dine alfresco, a lovely place to enjoy breakfast and a coffee, or a cold drink and a meal cooked on the barbecue in the evening sunshine.
Compton Dundon has a pub if you wish to treat yourself, and the village has a Post Office and church.
The market town of Somerton has enhanced facilities, such as pubs, restaurants and shops, with the surrounding countryside offering walks and cycle routes.
There’s something for everyone within reach, including visits to the town of Glastonbury and Clarkes Shopping Village just short drives away, the city of Wells, Cheddar Gorge and National Trust properties.
Also whilst staying at this unique holiday home you can visit the cities of Bath and Bristol, as well as visiting the two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty spots nearby.
A wonderful hut for a special romantic getaway.
