Shaftesbury 5 miles.
A small bustling North Dorset market town in the heart of the Blackmore Vale, well served by a good selection of local shops, inns, restaurants, and a direct rail link from London to the West Country. The town was immortalised by John Constable's famous painting of The Old Town Bridge, which now hangs in the Tate Gallery. The Blackmore Vale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is part of the Stour Valley, vividly depicted by Thomas Hardy in Tess of The D'Urbervilles, as 'Vale of the little dairies', with lush green countryside and a 'patchwork quilt' of fields. The area abounds with pretty rural walks and offers numerous National Trust properties and historic houses within a short drive, such as Stourhead, Longleat and Wilton, whilst the wonderful Dorset Heritage Coast is also an easy drive.

Previous visitors' comments about Peacemere:
The cottage was wonderful there was everything you could possible need and more. There were little personal touches such as books, DVDs and games and leaflets about local attractions. The garden was huge and the cows at the bottom of the garden were entertaining. We have recommended it to everyone we know and hope to return again.
Miss Ward, Peterborough, September 2011
A very well stocked property in a very peacefully location.
Mr Mynard, Westgate-on-Sea, September 2011
The size of both the house and garden were fantastic. They were both kept very nicely indeed and it was a pleasure to be there. The local restaurants were amazing too. The locals were friendly and we really couldn't have asked for more.
Mrs Dale, Dartford, August 2011
We liked it so much that we have rebooked for another holiday in October. Cannot fault this property. Many thanks.
