The Property

An interesting, unusual, detached former chapel, fully rebuilt in 2008 to replicate the original wooden structure dating back to 1867, in the tranquil, rural hamlet of Huntingford, close to the borders of Dorset and Wiltshire. This quality renovation has inspired interest locally and nationally, having been featured on TV's Homes Under the Hammer and in Dorset Life magazine. The characterful, timber-clad interior, with its high beamed, vaulted ceiling and superb galleried landing, gives the living space a light and airy feel, while there is a lovely kitchen and bathroom at the rear, as well as an attractive eaves bedroom. The chapel stands in its own garden surrounded by glorious countryside and farm land, with access to plenty of walks. Locally, there are country pubs serving good food and real ales, with trout fishing also available close by. There's plenty to see and do in the area: the magnificent house and gardens at Stourhead, racing at Wincanton, Shaftesbury and Longleat House and Safari Park. A superb and unique holiday home in a most beautiful part of the country.

Beautiful little chapel, full of character and so peaceful. Just the place to get out of the city and re-charge your batteries! The owners are lovely. We were met by home made chocolate cookies and all things necessary for a nice hot cuppa. The owners are a real font of knowledge regarding places to see in the surrounding area and kept us well supplied with logs for the wood burner. My daughter and I had a fabulous long weekend. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Mrs Blake, Bristol, January 2014

Beautiful and unusual property. Set in a quiet and relaxing area.

Mrs Wawick, Aldershot, October 2013

The Chapel had been rebuilt to a superb standard, and was in a very quiet and peaceful location. It was also a good base to see the surrounding area. The cottage had a wealth of information leaflets and books for first time visitors.

Mrs Wright, Stockport, September 2013

A lovely venue and the warm welcome and helpful attitude of the owners.

Mr Athern, Aylesbury, June 2013
