Ideal for walking and taking in the superb country views, the area is well served by attractive inns and is also very well placed for exploring numerous National Trust properties and gardens, including Stourhead, only 4 miles away. Longleat House and Safari Park, as well as the ancient hilltop town of Shaftesbury, featured in the famous 'Hovis' advert, are also an easy drive. An interesting, unusual, detached former chapel, fully re-built in 2008 to replicate the original wooden structure dating back to 1867, in the tranquil, rural hamlet of Huntingford, close to the borders of Dorset and Wiltshire. This quality renovation has inspired interest locally and nationally, having been featured on TV's 'Homes Under The Hammer' and in 'Dorset Life' magazine. The characterful, timber-clad interior, with its high beamed, vaulted ceiling and superb galleried landing, gives the living space a light and airy feel, while there is a lovely kitchen and bathroom at the rear, as well as an attractive eaves bedroom. The chapel stands in its own garden surrounded by glorious countryside and farm land, with access to plenty of walks. Locally, there are country pubs serving good food and real ales, with trout fishing also available close by. There's plenty to see and do in the area: the magnificent house and gardens at Stourhead, racing at Wincanton, Shaftesbury and Longleat House and Safari Park. A superb and unique holiday home in a most beautiful part of the country.

Previous visitors' comments about The Old Chapel:
The Chapel is very cosy and comfortable. We love it, which is why this is the third year in a row that we have booked it to use as a Christmas shopping base! The owners are really friendly and very helpful and their cakes are good too!

Quality restoration of this beautiful old building. Excellent quality fixtures and fittings. Very quiet, rural setting.
Mr Walker, 34320 Fontes, October 2012
An absolutely fantastic property. We could tell that it had been a ‘labour of love’ for the owners. The only place I have ever stayed which has more sofas and armchairs than the number of people allowed to stay. The location is brilliant. In summary the best place we have ever stayed.
Ms Timmins, Nottingham, October 2012
Distinctive property, very quiet location but within easy reach of the places we planned to visit. Warm welcome from the owners. An experience to be repeated some time in the future for sure.
