  • "We had an amazing stay at the cottage and will definitely visit again."

Jo and Neil were very friendly and they allowed us to sit in the harrier jet- which made my son's day. The cottage was really neat and tidy, every little thing was thought through including the little fans in the bedrooms. We spent our Christmas there, the handmade Christmas tree was really really cute. We enjoyed every minute of the hot tub. If you are looking for a quite holiday with amazing views Swan is cottage for you.

The hot tub was amazing to come back to after our daily adventures. The property is is based perfectly which meant we could reach Cheddar, Burnham, Glastonbury and Wookey within 25 mins in the car. We did a walk to Wedmore aswell, which took 40 mins, a lovely village. The beds were nice and firm (could have done with summer tog duvets though, as the property gets very warm on hot days). The owners were lovely and welcoming and let us view the Jet on Sunday morning. The grounds were well kept and clean and each lodge has designated garden space which meant we could play football and cricket without a bother to others. We used the washing machine and clothes airer provided, very handy. Definitely recommend this property to others, we had a blast!

The views were amazing, we loved the hot tub, the house was very warm and the beds cosy. There is no bath but we managed fine travelling with a 3yr old. The animals are friendly and the kids loved it. Space for 2 cars easily. Lovely hosts who own a plane you can sit in on a Sunday. The space was slightly snug for 6 but we loved it none the less. Loads to do in the local area. A great stay!!

  • "These are beautiful lodges in a wonderfull setting."

Despite there being 4 lodges they are very carefully arranged to ensure no one is overlooked. I'm very sensitive to noise, but we didn't hear a murmur from the other 3 lodges throughout our stay. The lodges have great views and are finished and furnished to a very high specification, with everything you need for a plesant stay. The hot tubs are large and sturdy and Jo quietly services them every morning. Castle farm will definately be our first choice when we stay in this area again.

  • "The property was not clean."

Dust and cobwebs on every wall and ceiling. We moved a coffee table to play a card game and found a moulding banana on the floor along side a thick layer of hair, dust, and more cobwebs. The fridge had an incredibly loud humm but did not work. Mattresses were awfully hard to lay on. May aswel have slept on the floor. All of the doors could use some oil on the hinges, very loud when opening and closing. Ideal location and a stunning property with amazing views nonetheless. Upkeep could be a lot better.

Thank you for your feedback. It is a shame that you didn't contact us during your stay as we pride ourselves on guests having a great holiday. We live in the farmhouse where the lodges are situated, we visit the lodges daily and provide our contact numbers in the front page of our welcome pack for guests to call if they have any issues. We would happily change mattresses , oil doors , and listen for hums if notified. All 4 lodges are identical and are cleaned by same cleaners which have always been reviewed positively for cleanliness but we are happy to clean again if asked. Property Owner

The owners Neil and Jo made our stay extra special and very welcoming as we requested a banner and balloons for a very special occasion. The location is rural and very quiet you would need a car to visit various places and get the most out of your stay. The local shops are approximately 15 minutes drive and if walking 30 to 45 minute, however I would recommend driving to make the most of your stay.

Property was extremely clean, fresh and comfortable and overlooked the most beautiful view. Jo was friendly and helpful, and the dogs gorgeous, gentle and friendly (one of my group is very wary of dogs but totally fell for Billy!). Easy access to Cheddar, Glastonbury, the Tor, Wells and Avalon Marshes nature reserve which is perfect for an easy cycle or birdwatching - IF you can drag yourself away from the peace of the lodge's terrace with its stunning views.

  • "My only negative comment about the lodge would be that the living room furniture was quite grubby and worn and could do with being updated."

Otherwise it was a wonderful break. The view from the patio area is one to savour. The beds were comfortable, plenty of towels provided and a fan for each room was also provided. An added bonus was getting to see and sit in the owners decommissioned Sea Harrier...something you'd not normally get a chance to do. Another highlight was the daily visit from Billy the dog who brought his ball to play fetch. The lodge is very well located for various local places of interest and most importantly very peaceful and quiet. The only real noises we heard were the cows mooing and the Buzzards screeching...both were wonderful to hear. We'd most certainly return if we ever visit Somerset again.

Both children now want a collie!! Alpacas, ponies, sheep all at the end of the garden..so quiet and peaceful and my Husband/children loved sitting in the harrier..what a fantastic piece of history. We have been in the past and we were not disappointed as it was just as amazing as the first time we visited. We made use of the hot tub every night and loved the visits we got from Billy, he is such a friendly and playful dog. We couldn’t thank Neil and Jo for their help any more, as our car broke down whilst we were down there (we’re from Preston) and we were pretty much stranded down there. They were kind enough to let us leave our car there for a scrap man to collect it, and didn’t stop there as Jo was happy to drive us to the nearest train station, which was a squeeze with all of our luggage in her mini, we made it work. We look forward to seeing the two new additions to your site when they are completed as they look amazing already. The only thing that I would say is study the route the sat Nav tries to take you down. My sat Nav took me through a field to get to the house. It was a horrid drive through the field for my car... did not sound healthy. We got stuck in the mud a few times! That road is better suited if you have a 4x4 for sure. But there is a main road that will take you to the property....my sat Nav was just adamant to destroy my car. But this is no fault of the property!! It’s google maps fault! Neil and Jo were delightful hosts and couldn't have been more welcoming. The lodge was bright, airy and impeccably clean but our 13 year old found the bunk bed too narrow to sleep in uncomfortably. The upstairs bedroom has low ceilings to either side of the bed and even my relatively short parents hit their heads several times when getting in and out of bed in the night. We also found a lack of pots and pans in the kitchen.
