  • "We stayed as a family of 5 in may, beautiful quiet location."

Very relaxing sitting on the decking area overlooking the pool. Good location for local Resorts, Weston, burnham etc and cheddar gorge all within 20-30 mins. Good sized 3 bedroom lodge, got all you need whilst on holiday. Would stay again. Very pleasant stay.

  • "The lodge provided a tranquil and relaxing setting."

It had ample space and facilities. Mr & Mrs Dew were friendly and helpful. The only reason we didn't give full rating for cleanliness was not for the lodge but simply for the goose poo on the pathway. It would have been nice to be able to arrive slightly earlier than 4 pm.

  • "The lodge was great, although I am not sure it is suitable for families as there is a lot of goose poo all over the place."

Start of holiday was ruined a little bit by the fact that the owners failed to give us an email containing the code to the keysafe prior to the holiday as promised. Spent an hour and a half trying to contact them, only for them to say that they had sent it and to check my inbox, spam etc. I am tech savvy (I am an IT consultant) and can tell you no email was received. Eventually they did give us the code over the phone. I would have expected better customer service than this considering the amount of money involved. Never mind, I won't use this lodge again.

Fishing was fantastic catching carp between 6-10lb everyday, pub & restaurants in a few minutes drive, garden centre with a café great for breakfast and opposite the site entrance, will look to book again.

  • "The location is nice and the lodge was comfortable."

It would probably be fine in good weather. Very loud vibrating noise due to wind disturbed our sleep, (this was not the extraction vents in the bathroom as suggested by owners). There was no WiFi or TV due to recent storm, not their fault but we could have been notified of this before we arrived and not had to call them to find out. As we were packing up to leave found a collection of suspenders in one of the twin rooms drawers, obviously left by a previous guest. In all not the experience we were hoping for, the hands off approach by the owners verges on disinterest. It might help them to spend a night in the accommodation and experience it for themselves. It's a real shame as has the potential to be very pleasant.

We were really surprised how spacious it was. Lovely Xmas tree with lights in lounge was very welcoming. Everything about this lodge was excellent and the view over the lake beautiful. We would definitely recommend this lodge.

  • "Had a great week, the lodge was great, my only criticism is the checking in and checking out times meant we lost 2 days out of the 5 we were there."

As we went for the fishing it would be a good idea that we could have turned up as early as we wanted so we could fish for the day with the understanding that we cant get into the lodge until 3pm. This way we wouldn't have lost the first day. The same could be said when leaving, we could get out of the lodge at 10 but stay for the day to carry on fishing that would be much better value for money.

  • "This was our third time to the lodges so all as expected the only problem is that there are four geese which at times can be a bit of a nuisance if you want to fish the pond."

There are plenty of places to visit in the area such as Wells, Cheddar, and the outlet shopping Clarks Village at Street.

my daughter did not like them and when we sat out on balcony or attempted to use grass area, they rushed over, flapping wings and hissing/squawking. There were a lot of goose poo over grass area too which meant watching were you walked/played. This should be written on details as not everyone found them endearing!
