Location: Linwood

Ringwood 5 miles.

Linwood is a tiny scattering of farms and cottages found towards the western end of the New Forest National Park, not far from Ringwood, a community well served by two pubs renowned for their good food and real ales. The New Forest, the country's smallest National Park, boasts 150 square miles of magnificent woodland, and swathes of heather and bracken covered heathland, dotted with picturesque villages, frequented by herds of wild ponies, cattle and deer, as well as many different species of birds. The forest is intersected by well marked paths which are great for walking, cycling and riding. Bike hire and pony trekking can be arranged at nearby Burley. Within easy reach can be found the famous National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, and a visit to the stunning gardens at Exbury is not to be missed. Both Salisbury and Bournemouth are a short drive away. This is a perfect location for a varied and interesting holiday.

Previous visitors' comments about Endymion:

The Cottage was nicely tucked away a mile or so from any main road and so peaceful. Out of the gate and straight onto the New Forest, and a less touristy bit at that. Our dog loved it, as did we. Also, although the owners lived in the next cottage, we never saw them, it was just wonderful.
Mr Beal, Uckfield, March 2012

The chalet was beautiful, ideal location and cosy. Right on footpaths into the forest. Had some lovely walks and runs with my dogs. Great to see so many ponies and donkeys coming to feed at the cottage!
Mr Clarke, Leatherhead, February 2012

Very warm and cosy despite a few bitter nights. Home comforts were provided on our arrival. Very relaxing and peaceful.
Mr Dobson, Horley, February 2012

The owners couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. We needed a little extra help as we came on our motorbike and then the freezing temperatures hit! Endymion is gorgeous with everything you need. We will stay longer next time and when its warmer. We may also invest in satnav for the bike! Many thanks.
