  • "It hadn’t had a proper clean as we found mouldy items under draws and dust also the en suite shower is in real need of maintenance and water runs out onto floor also the bedroom wall adjoining it in bedroom was damp and wet marks!"

! Damp was a concern as granddaughter has chronic asthma and partner COPD and also couldn’t open all windows? Holiday enjoyed as we love Weymouth and have been coming for years but wouldn’t stay at particular property again thr property was not clean and Dream Cottages need to up their game especially with the prices they charging and we have booked with them for few years now

We are very sorry that the cleaning by Dream Cottages was not up standard. Unfortunately this is not under our (the owner’s) control. Cleaning issues should be directed immediately to Dream Cottages. If any guests have any issues with the flat it always advisable to contact Dream Cottages to address this in the first instance so that they problem can be resolved by us or them - be it cleaning or anything else, eg how things work etc. We are also keen to learn when items or equipment in the flat get broken or damaged so that they can be repaired or replaced for the enjoyment of future guests. Our goal is to help guests gain the maximum enjoyment from their stay - holidays are important to everyone and we want you to have the best time possible. In addition It may be helpful to learn that we have a program of improvements underway, which include an en-suite refit and upgrades to the bathroom which should be completed prior to the bank holiday at the end of May. 2023. Information folders a good help, lots of useful information in them. Would definitely book again if going back to Weymouth.

  • "The property facilities were amazing , couldn’t think of anything it was lacking ."

The info booklet was so useful , especially the tip about the shortcut to the harbour . Our only disappointment was the lack of natural light ( I appreciate this is due to it being lower ground floor ) on the plus side it kept everywhere cool ! We had an amazing stay overall .

  • "Excellent location, excellent facilities (even a kite which we flew on the beach!"

), comfortable and clean. A fantastic homely base for our holiday. The only negative point was that the en suite is a little tired around the edges and could do with some attention.

  • "Having scoured Dream holidays for weeks trying to find the perfect accommodation I am glad that I stumbled upon Jurassic hideaway."

The apartment is well equipped for rainy days with books, games, dvds, smart TVs, and baking equipment which thankfully were not needed for our seven days of sunshine. It is also well equipped for sunny days with deck chairs, fishing equipment, wind breakers badminton equipment and other sports. The owners have not just created a business, but a holiday home and should be very very proud. The location is superb, you are a 10 minute walk to the harbour and 15 mins from the town centre, so you are close enough to access the wonderful beach and town centre, but far enough away that you do not have people walking past your property at all hours. The walk could be difficult for people with mobility issues with steep hills and steps, but thankfully you have your own dedicated driveway space and Weymouth is probably the most vehicle friendly seaside resort in Britain with thousands of car parking spaces and a park and ride. The apartment is also only a 5 minute walk from Newton’s cove which is a lovely and quiet place to sit and appreciate the sea especially at sunset. I cannot speak highly enough of this property and would have no hesitation booking again.

  • "I agree the cleanliness on arrival had a lot to be desired."

The surfaces were Ok, but the floor, mats, cupboards, windows and generally everywhere was lacking even a basic clean. We are asked quite clearly by notices to only put rubbish in the purple bags for disposal in correct wheelie bin. There was no purple bags left anywhere! Also no spare toilet rolls. On arrival, in October, the central heating was 14ºc. We are asked to only use the wall mounted thermostat to alter the temperature. This is a "smart" thermostat and as such is pre-programmed. Unfortunately the manual control does not respond. (as noted by previous guests) and the set-point was 7º and dropping! There is a wall mounted electric fan heater for the lounge only. This is so loud you cannot hear TV. Tried phoning agents but the message was that they are busy and the queue was 1 hour+. No chance on a PAYG. The thermostat resumed in the morning, but still no manual control. And so to bathroom, puddle on floor from leaking towel radiator, this stopped when heating did eventually go. The beds were a big improvement, comfortable and clean. The complaints about the WiFi have been addressed as a booster is fitted in main bedroom. We had no problems at all in this respect. The parking seems to have been an issue. The bush preventing no.5 from parking close to it has been cut back. There are spaces for small to medium size cars only. We managed OK as there was no car in space 5 during our stay. However the person exercising their dog in the car park wants to clear it up !!! Comments were previously made regarding the access to shower. Nice large shower and just fine if you can get safely through a 15½" opening. There is a grab handle now fitted. There are loads and loads of entertainment kit supplied including, XBox BluRay, audio system, smart TV, books, CDs. Also kitchen is well equipped. The washer/dryer has been replaced with new but why oh why such a hi Tech one in a holiday let No manual left either. This has also concerned previous guests. Positioned convenient for the town and other amenities, walking is possible but beware there are hills! Sorry this has been, for the most part, a sad story but forewarned is forearmed.

  • "Cleanliness is an issue, particularly in the current climate."

There were cobwebs everywhere but particularly the windows which clearly hadn’t been open when the cleaners were in. the throw and rug in the front room were stained. the bedroom was damp, you could see it coming through on the ceiling. the internet was poor and didn’t work in the bedroom which meant the tv didn’t work well either. Place was spacious, good facilities generally and location is nice. Parking as previous visitors have stated space 5 always parked over the line so parking wasn’t always easy.

  • "Only issue we had this year was with the allocated parking space."

Due to the size of the bush /tree next to the road, the car parked in the allocated space for flat 5 was consistently parked on or just over the white line so that they could get out of their car as the bush/tree is taking up a lot of this space. With a car in the space for flat 3 as well, this left me with no choice but to park in the visitors space on 2 occasions. If the bush /tree was cut back and managed this would then allow the car in space 5 more room and not have to park in the space allocated for the flat. Other than that, bet happy.

  • "The space suited our family and there are plenty of toys to amuse young children."

There is also a ground coffee machine & bike rack outside not mentioned in facilities. Jurassic is located at the top of a hill, handy to harbour eateries with dedicated bike tracks to Portland Island & Dorchester. Recommend Sealife (Children) & Abbotsbury Swannery & nearby Sub-tropical gardens (adults & children) as good days out. There is no outside sitting or drying space, the car space is tight. We were unhappy that the washer/dryer was not fixed during our entire stay and we were left with wet clothes & towels (no spares) or advice ( delays in responding due to rush on holiday lettings) so left a day early.

  • "Yes, electric went off twice too many sockets on, may be black socket in master bedroom or toaster knocking off electric."

One down side was the shower door did not open wide so dad and mom had to go in side ways. I mom going in from the left and with her bad leg it made it difficult to get in shower, could do with bar on back wall as well and shower step could have been slightly higher, we over come it by making the step higher putting a towel underneath and using me to support her weight to lift her bad leg because she went in from the left the supporting bar was behind her. This won't stop us booking again we really enjoyed staying at the apartment and and we are considering booking late Sept.

  • "Exceptionally clean and well equipped flat, comfy beds, great location."

Accessibility wise the apartment really is level access through out as described (there is a step up into the shower), there is a sharp turn into the apartment which made it not really suitable for wheelchair users, unless it's a folding one and you can walk a little, in which case it would be great. Would highly recommend this apartment, thanks for a lovely stay. The office staff were very obliging fixing us up with an extra set of keys. Stayed June 2018
