The rural Wiltshire hamlet of Orcheston is a mile from Shrewton village, 5 miles from Stonehenge and 12 miles from Salisbury. Orcheston is situated on Salisbury Plain, 300 square miles of chalk downland, which features a wealth of archaeological heritage, including the World Heritage Site at Stonehenge. Partly used for army training, the Plain’s countryside has been preserved as a haven for wild birds, animals and plantlife. Chalk streams flow around the edge of the Plain, much favoured by fly fishermen, whilst the attractive streamside villages offer thatched cottages and country pubs. A short drive takes you to the historic city of Salisbury with its majestic cathedral, twice-weekly market and bustling shopping centre. Shopaholics are also well catered for at the Wilton shopping outlet. Alternatively Wilton House and gardens offer a fascinating day out, whilst Stourhead, Longleat Safari Park, and the Kennet and Avon Canal at Devizes are all easily accessible. A great base for exploring this interesting area.

Previous visitors' comments about Elm Grove:
The quality of the accommodation was incredible. The setting was quiet and beautiful and the central heating was freely available, which, for November, was essential!
Mrs Wardill, Epsom, November 2011
The spacious lounge area. Good kitchen utensils. Quiet Location. Proximity of the shop and Pub - accessible by car in 5min or 20min on foot but not too close to be intrusive. The ability to contact a local housekeeper if necessary.
We liked the place and are strongly considering a return trip.
Mr Hughes, Chester, October 2011
A lovely area to visit and a beautiful property to stay in. It was immaculate.
Mrs Beer, Neath, September 2011
One would wish to own a place like this cottage. Not only is it beautifully furnished, the lay out of it is outstanding and extremely spacious. I had the feeling to come home to my own week-end home. There were food and drinks available, books, TV, WIFI, children toys, beautiful bedlinen, fluffy towels, flowers and a lovely welcome note by the caretaker. The cherry on the cake were Continental bathroom facets where warm and cold water mixes, a feature that one finds very rarely, even in modern English cottages. My congratulations to the owner for having built this house. Everything was just perfect !!!
