West Stour is a small village situated on the borders of South East Somerset and North Dorset, and is part of a group of villages known as 'The Stours', so named as the River Stour, popular with anglers, passes close by. Previous visitors' comments about Thornhill:

From the living room in Thornhill you have a wonderful view over a beautiful landscape and it is not too far away from Salisbury, Stonehenge, Bath, the Jurassic Coast and many other interesting sites in South West of England. We had a wonderful stay there and I am sure that we will come back.
Ms Povalej, Leonberg, June 2011

The decor was very unusual and interesting. The cottage was quiet but also very accessible via A30. Very interesting 'library' and pictures. I can recommend 'The Udder Farm Shop' and Kings Head, East Stour for food.
Mr Payne, Bexley, July 2010
