Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased you had an enjoyable time at Rosamond. Regarding the phone signal, so long as your phone will pick up the Wifi, it should use that to make & receive calls. Ours do with most providers. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Property Owner

We had a lovely time here. It's location is in a lovely little village just 2 miles outside Bridport with everything you would need. The cottage was really clean throughout, and had everything you would need. The local Pub (just a few hundred yards away) is a little gem, with great food, good beer, and the most welcoming landlady. All in all we had a wonderful stay at Rosamond and would recommend it to anyone.

  • "A lovely property with a beautiful view."

It was the perfect size for a family of four with a dog. I was a little apprehensive about our two teenage girls sharing a room but they had a great time. The property was nicely decorated and the second toilet was a bonus. The garden was lovely and were able to have the patio doors open and enjoy the peace and quiet. Having milk, tea etc waiting for us was a lovely surprise and we really appreciated the thoughtful things like a towel for the dog, poo bags and even a spare lead. We cannot wait to return!

The location, standard of accommodation, fixtures and fittings were excellent, everything we needed was provided. Having tea, coffee, milk and bikkies waiting for us was an added bonus and Maggie was an excellent host. If you want peace and quiet and a comfortable, restful break, we would thoroughly recommend Rosamond Cottage. I expect we will stay here again.

  • "We just had a great week at Rosamond - a family of four plus a dog."

This well set up, liveable and comfy bungalow has an open and spacious feel with the wonderful big windows. The beds are good (we can be picky) so everyone was well rested ready for holiday adventures. Great communication from the owners about a local road closure allowed us to avoid any problems. This is a house you can relax in as well as use as a holiday base! Exactly what we needed!

  • "Property well maintained."

The owner has clearly thought about it from the view of themselves & how happy they would be to stay there. It is comfortable & functional yet minimal ie not cluttered with stuff you wouldn’t use. They provided simple things such as biscuits, tea, coffee & milk on arrival which was a nice touch just what you need from a long journey, also provided poo bags & towels to use for the dog, as I said previously the owner has put some thought into this let. Village & Villagers are lovely, neighbours very welcoming, local pub is very nice only a 5minute walk but I would recommend booking a table as very busy which is nice to see locals looking after local busines. Definitely on the saved visits list to hopefully return.

  • ""Rosamond" is a clean, comfortable, well-equipped bungalow in the small, unusual village of Shipton Gorge."

The village is in a narrow valley, and the buildings are in tiers along the sides of the valley. Rosamond Avenue runs along the top of one side of the valley, with bungalows along one side of the avenue and a drop the other side. The bungalow has lovely gardens front and back, each consisting of a lawn surrounded by a wide variety of interesting plants. From the back windows, and from the back garden, there is a wide view across open agricultural grassland to Shipton Hill. Note: All approach roads into the village are narrow lanes.

The property was spot-on for three adults and our dog. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds, fully equipped, comfortable living room with a beautiful view of the Dorset countryside through the patio doors and garden. No mobile phone signal but excellent broadband meaning we could use WhatsApp and Facetime to contact family when needed. Very quiet location with easy access to Bridport, West Bay and further afield to Lyme Regis, Sidmouth and Weymouth. We were lucky to have some warm sunny weather which made the 8 minute drive to the Hive Cafe on the beach at Burton Bradstock even better for a couple of full English and one Eggs Benedict breakfasts by the sea

Beds really comfortable slept really well. Property really clean. Only downside was living room not having that 'cosy' feeling , this due to decor/type of furniture. Neighbouring properties very close next to each other.... didn't feel like a holiday away from home. Would still recommend staying here as views and surrounding areas are just beautiful and well worth the visit.

We were thoughtfully contacted by the owner prior to our visit and as a result the place was beautifully decorated for Christmas. High spec accommodation in a beautiful setting with wonderful views. No expenses spared on comfort especially the bed mattresses and a super clean interior. Carefully attended dog proof garden and the owners are lovely people. I have also left a review on Trustpilot as we were so impressed with Rosamond. Thoroughly recommendable if you love peace, quiet, complete privacy and tranquility in a holiday setting, but only 200 yds from a smashing country pub with outstanding food and 2 miles from one of the best beaches in Dorset ( Hive ). I cannot praise this beautiful bungalow enough.

We were expecting a bungalow on an estate and actually got a secluded property with amazing views on a no through country lane. Everything we needed and more was available to us and the owner was incredibly kind and helpful. The local walks are sensational. The local pub welcoming. The property itself was immaculate. The village of Shipton Gorge and the neighbouring Burton Bradstock are beautiful and we won't hesitate to return.

  • "The cottage is brilliant."

Its location is perfect for those who like visit beaches or enjoy the coast path. In particular if you'd like to have a run, you can easily get to the coast and run on the coast path, which was what I did. While the cottage is in a village, it is very quiet and you can enjoy the beautiful country view from the dinning table. The cottage is well equipted, and you can find anything you'd need. It's also very clean. We definitely enjoyed our stay and will come back in the future.

SHIPTON GORGE

Bridport 2.8 miles; Seatown 7.2 miles; Lyme Regis 13.3 miles.

The village of Shipton Gorge has its first reference in the Domesday Book of 1086. There is no "gorge" but it is an interesting and pretty village with high banked lanes, lovely houses and a community spirit. There are a number of thatched properties as well as listed buildings, one site of special scientific interest, two small woods and a network of public footpaths and bridleways to be explored. It has an early 15th century church tower, a 13th century font and the exterior is floodlit for much of the year making it an important feature of the village both day and night.
