    • “We really enjoyed our stay at The Hayloft. The cottage is beautifully furnished, not like a typical holiday rental quality at all. We travelled with 2 youngish children and my older mum and the cottage suited us all - having 3 ensuite loos plus a downstairs toilet was a real bonus. Just a small thing - if you're taking a telly fan, the tv has very limited channels. There is a dvd player there though and we were so busy out enjoying the area it didn't matter to us. the garden is fully enclosed and safe for the dog and we we found the whole area to be really doggy friendly - including the pub 5 mins walk away that served lovely food and the stately home (Athelhampton House) down the road. Highly recommended.”

    • “The cottage was beautiful, in a great location and so quiet. The owners were very welcoming and we have had a great week. Excellent all round.”

    Mrs Bladen, Saltburn-by-the-Sea, April 2015

    • “The location was perfect with spectacular views. The cottage had a lovely warm and cosy ambience. Access to the enclosed garden was nice and easy for the dog we took with us - through the kitchen meant we could easily wipe muddy paws and leave no paw-prints on the carpets! The beds were very comfortable, storage was plentiful and the rooms a very decent size. The fact that all 3 bedrooms had their own en suite bathrooms was brilliant. A downstairs loo as well - the ultimate luxury for three mature ladies!”

    Mrs Davidson, Buckingham, February 2015

About the location

Dorchester 8 miles.

Full of character, this village offers a tasteful combination of modern and thatched properties, surrounded by glorious countryside. The lush meadows, watered by the quaintly named 'River Piddle', and the nearby chalk downland provide lovely rural walks.
