Head to the coast and discover Burnham-on-Sea with its seven miles of unspoilt sandy beaches, sailing, fishing and donkey rides, as well as Burnham and Barrow Championship Golf Course. The nearby traditional seaside town of Weston-super-Mare offers awarding-winning sandy beaches, restaurants and shops, as well as the Playhouse, Winter Gardens and the Grand Pier offering a year-round programme of shows, musicals and fairs. Drive five miles inland to Cheddar, on the edge of the Mendip Hills and renowned for Cheddar Gorge, the largest gorge in Britain, which includes several show caves such as Gough’s Cave, through which Britain’s biggest underground river runs.
