Ringwood 2 miles; Bournemouth 10 miles.
Avon Heath Country Park, Dorset’s largest park, can be found just 2 miles west of Ringwood and 10 miles north of Bournemouth. This well-managed park consists of large areas of heathland, scattered with pine trees, while purple banks of heather provide a stunning site in summer. A great deal of conservation work has resulted in attracting several rare species of birds and reptiles, together with a resident deer population. Visitors can participate in a wide variety of events at the Visitors Centre, which also offers a children’s play area, countryside shop and cafe, or enjoy access to over 2 miles of marked walking and cycle trails. Alternatively, take the short drive to the family-friendly seaside resort of Bournemouth, explore the nearby New Forest National Park or take a boat trip around the islands of Poole Harbour. This fascinating area offers a super holiday destination for all the family.

Previous visitors' comments about The Chalet:
We particularly liked the secluded location, the privacy and enclosed garden. Being able to watch the wildlife from the windows. The rangers were very helpful and our dog loved the garden and walks in the forest. He had to come home for a rest!
Mr Smith, Truro, April 2012
Plenty of walks nearby. Ideal for dog walks. Plenty of info in the cottage about things to do locally.
Miss Guy, Newcastle upon Tyne, February 2012

Mr Felton, Cambridge, February 2012
Location was perfect for seeing the New Forest and we enjoyed walking every day to different places. Beautiful, fully equipped cottage with open fire - we couldn't have wanted any more.
