    • “Comfortable and very clean holiday cottage”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “After a long and windy rainy journey, it was lovely to enter a warm and very clean cottage. The owners had left milk, bread etc for us so we could warm ourselves up, in front of a lovely fire with a nice cup of tea. This is in addition to the central heating! The kitchen and utility room are well equipped with the normal units including a microwave oven, dishwasher, good washing machine and separate tumble drier. The bedrooms were beautiful and spacious and the beds were very comfortable. There are good views looking out from the front windows of the cottage but there are no views from the back of the cottage except via skylights in the roof. There were only 2 of us, but if there were 6 people in the house, the table would have to be set up for meal times and put away to allow people to make full use of the lounge. The modem and internet was easy to find and once connected, we had no problems in getting on the internet. However, we needed to go outside to get a mobile connection. We liked the location since it was in the north part of Skye which we wanted to see. There is a shop in Staffin near Digg, where we could buy groceries and where there are a couple of cafes/restaurants. We ate at the Flodigarry Hotel which is north of Digg. It had been revamped over the winter months - lovely place, good for that special occasion but it is pricey. Lots of touristy places to visit, beautiful walks - recommend visiting the Quiraing along the Trotternish ridge. Also look for the dinosaur footprint in the rocks at Staffin. We did not see the owner until half way through the holiday but this was ok since we had talked with him before the holiday as recommended by trip advisor. All in all, the cottage is well looked after with modern units and comfortable furnishings.”

    • “Great place, amazing view, the house is very clean. 3bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Unfortunately not a good wifi connection. The owner is very kind and will provide all the info about the area, he left also a welcome basket with wine, milk, coffee and chocolate.”

We travel extensively, and have stayed in a lot of holiday lets in Scotland and throughout Europe and I can honestly say this has been the best we have ever had the pleasure to stay in. I would definitely recommend this house to any of my friends and will certainly love to come back when we return to Scotland.”

    • “The cottage had almost everything we needed for the holiday. The bedrooms were very comfortable. The best bit was the views from the cottage and waking up to the sound of the cows and sheep as the sunshine poured in through the windows. It was one of the best cottages we've stayed in and would definitely recommend it to others.”

About the location

Staffin 2 miles; Portree 20 miles

Digg is a small picturesque community of traditional whitewashed cottages just two miles from the equally friendly and pretty crofting township of Staffin. Digg enjoys wonderful views over to Staffin Island and to the famous Trotternish Ridge. The area is also well known for its beautiful sandy beach. Fossils and even dinosaur footprints have been found in the Trotternish area, so a visit to the nearby Fossil Museum can be quite an eye-opener! The Jurassic landscape of the Trotternish Peninsula is rich in interest for geologists - sites such as the Mealt Waterfall and Kilt Rock where the waterfall drops 300 feet into the sea, and The Needle, are worth a visit. The very photogenic 'Old Man of Storr' is a 160 ft pillar which dominates the landscape overlooking Loch Fada. Spectacular scenery, peaceful walks and a chance to really relax make this a holiday destination to which you will want to return time and again.
