Tarskavaig is one of a number of picturesque settlements scattered along the south-west coast of the Isle of Skye. The village is a classic crofting community that stretches down to Tarskavaig Bay, and because of its elevated situation, properties here benefit from dramatic views towards Rhum and Eigg. Tarskavaig has its own sandy beach, and seals, dolphins and Minky whales are frequently sighted. A short boat trip will take you to well-known puffin colonies, and there is always the chance of seeing a Golden Eagle. Kinloch House, the estate and acclaimed restaurant of Lady Clare MacDonald is within easy reach for a gastronomic treat, while the nearby Gaelic College often hosts traditional music concerts.
