Location: Teangue

Broadford 12 miles.

The crofting village of Teangue sits on the west side of the Sound of Sleat on the Sleat Peninsula on the Isle of Skye. It looks over the dramatic Sound to mainland Knoydart and Lochs Hourn and Nevis and is an ideal spot for viewing the dramatic seascapes and mountains with the ruins of Knock Castle in the foreground. Nearby is the village of Armadale which not only has a ferry port to allow you to sail over the sea to Skye from Mallaig, but also the Clan Donald Visitor Centre in Armadale Castle. Here you can explore the history of this famous clan MacDonald in the Museum of the Isles, tour the gardens and woodland walks and seek out the local wildlife on the hills including deer, otters on the shore and a variety of birdlife. It is also an ideal location if you are attending the Gaelic College Sabhal Mor Ostaig. For a less energetic adventure there is Lady Claire Macdonald’s restaurant and cookery school at Kinloch. Broadford is 12 miles away and Skye’s largest town of Portree is 37 miles away through some of the most spectacular scenery you could wish to see.
