    • “Lovely spacious & modern cottage close to scenic Dunvegan”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “We recently came to the Isle of Skye and stayed at Kintillo Cottage for 7 nights. The cottage is in Glendale, a quiet and picturesque village just outside Dunvegan. The view from the cottage is picturesque with views of the surrounding hills and sheep roaming freely. There are no cottages in front of you so there is a lovely feeling of peace and being somewhere remote and almost untouched. The cottage has a very spacious and well equipped kitchen with all the pots and herbs you would need, plus the basic essentials to get you started. I even baked a cake! The living room is very comfy with plenty of seating and a large flat screen tv. There are two bedrooms, 1 large double and 1 smaller room with 2 single beds. The cottage is very clean and well decorated. It looks modern but homely. We really enjoyed our stay and it was a great base to explore the island and nearby Raasay. Other amenities close by include village shop/post office, a couple of cafes, plenty of craft/galleries and it's a short drive from the Michelin star 'Three Chinneys' restaurant. I would definitely recommend this cottage. We had a wonderful stay.”

    • “An Excellent Holiday Cottage”

    • “Stayed in K in the last week in May and were lucky with the weather. I fully recommend the cottage which is modern inside, extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need - literally a home from home. The central heating is spot on as is the variety of cutlery and crockery all of which is spotless. The view across the river is beautiful and the location is good for touring the whole island. Loved it and will book again.”

    • “Ideal Cottage in Great Location”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “Kintillo is an ideal base for an enjoyable holiday. A true home from home, this cottage has everything you need. Situated in an great location, remote enough for that 'get away from it all' feeling, but a 5-10 minute walk away from the local village shop which was well stocked. Great base to come back to after a long day out exploring the local walks. Bottle of wine on arrival is a lovely touch. Will certainly be back.”

    • “Magic Kintillo”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “We had the most incredible time here. The cottage is so perfect as a holiday rental...neutral enough decor that it feels calm, but with just a few small touches to make it feel very homely and cozy and it's obviously very loved. Being teetotal, we were left some fizzy drinks instead of the usual bottle of wine, which felt unbelievably welcoming after a long day's journey from London. The cottage was impeccably clean, the heating is straightforward to understand, there's a deluxe flat screen tv with DVD player, a fantastic power shower but also a bath if you need a soak after a long walk plus a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer (although we dried our clothes on the line and they smelt so good afterwards). Also it's dog-friendly, which is important if you are a dog owner who likes to take your dog on holiday with you! The kitchen was well stocked and we had local oysters and scallops one night from the oyster place just beyond the Talisker distillery. They were delicious and such a treat, but very reasonably priced compared to eating them in a restaurant. As it was summer, the days were very long, but we both slept like kings as the bedroom has good blackout blinds and it's so deeply peaceful there. The cottage is situated on the outskirts a lovely little village called Glendale. The views are uplifting and you can see the sea quite close by, and it's about a 10 min walk away. Willie Campbell the owner advised me to stock up in a supermarket beforehand so we did that, but actually the co-op in Portree isn't too far away. Also Glendale is blessed with the excellent RedRoof cafe which serves beautiful lunches and tempting baked goods and their coffee is obviously sourced by people who wouldn't settle for anything less than an excellent cup of coffee. It ended up being somewhere we went a lot! We also had a meal at the Three Chimneys which was, as expected from a Michelin starred restaurant, very sophisticated food. The holiday was just what I needed and I felt completely different when I came back to London. The beauty of Skye is phenomenal and it's hard not to feel affected by it on a profound level. Kintillo was a wonderful base to experience Skye and I hope to return there as soon as possible.”

    • “If you are looking for a complete holiday then this is it. Finding a holiday that allows you to relax whilst still entertaining 2 active teeenagers is not easy. Skye has it all, Fishing, walking scenery, castles, dining etc and to enjoy all this Kintillo is the ideal setting. We had lovely weather for the week and even the feared midges didn't bother us.”

    • “The cottage was very well appointed with all mod cons. It was a true haven with many although quiet, very beautiful spots to visit. Not too far from The Three Chimneys restaurant, which although expensive offered superb food. The whole stay in this beautiful part of Skye was very relaxing and we were blessed with unusually good weather which added to the enjoyment of our stay. We have no qualms at all about returning here in the future!”

    • “Excellent accommodation in a beautiful part of Skye. Had everything you could have needed! There was lots of information on tourist attractions/walks in the area. Had a great relaxing week and would definitely recommend.”

    Mrs Lynch, Erskine, June 2015

    • “Kintillo is a serene cottage is a peaceful setting. Ideal if you are looking for some down time away from the daily hustle and bustle. My wife and I enjoyed the peace and quiet and our only regret was that we were only there for 3 nights rather than the full week. The cottage was beautifully presented and felt very homely, there was plenty of space inside. It was 15mins away from Dunvegan and 45mins from Portree - you aren't too far away from amenities (there is a local shop in Glendale as well). Someone has taken the liberty of printing out a great selection of local walks in the cottage, which are great if you are looking to get outdoors and in the fresh air. Would definitely rent again if back in the area.”

    Mr Fairley, Dunfermline, May 2015

    • “When we decided to go to Skye Duirinish and booked Kintillo we did not expect a cottage like that. It was a perfect base for exploring the north of Skye - especially to make quick visits to the lighthouse. And we had the promised sheep in the morning - not too early of course - great stay.”

    Mr Schenk, Wiesbaden, July 2014

    • “The cottage was wonderful! We felt very at home and were sad when it came time to leave.”

    • “We loved the location of the property, it was peaceful and quiet. The local residents were really friendly, especially in the shop and the information provided by the owners beforehand was really useful. Brilliant holiday.”

About the location

Portree 22 miles.

The village of Dunvegan is set in the north west of Skye and contains a mixture of traditional stone and modern houses, along with a selection of shops and hotels. About a mile from the village is Dunvegan Castle, home to the Clan MacLeod, who have continuously occupied the castle since the 13th century. Only four miles away is the famous Three Chimneys Restaurant, a must for all foodies, and just a 10 minute walk away is the very popular Old School Restaurant, also worth a visit. Also in the area are the Cullin Mountains with their fantastic rock forms and pinnacles, which many climbers would put at the top of their list. Other attractions on the Isle are plentiful - visit the Talisker Distillery or Portree, the island’s only town, set around its natural harbour, which boasts an excellent range of shops, hotels and restaurants, and also offers Sea Eagle trips from the pier, which are extremely popular.
