  • "Viking Cottage is in a super, loch side, setting next to a busy Inn."

There is a lovely beach five minutes walk away and with longer walks possible from the doorstep. Ideal beach for kayaking too. The kitchen was cosy for two families, but well stocked with plenty of crockery and cooking equipment and a decent freezer and fridge.

  • "Viking cottage is a lovely place to stay and is surrounded by stunning Scottish scenery."

Winners were the huge table for board games, wood burning fire, chairs to relax and watch the loch on and space in the porch for a mountain of wellies. There were so many things to do roundabout but we ran out of time!

  • "Really nice cottage with suited the four adults and toddler."

stunning location with views of the sea and landscape. beds were comfortable and linen clean. only thing I would recommend is replace the frying pan the non-stick doesn't work anymore. great break for our family though.

  • "A fantastic cottage in an ideal location for a wedding at the village hall."

It is a shame about the new build going up next door as it does spoil the view so of our party who were not able to walk far did have a restricted view. Would just suggest a lock on the downstairs bathroom would be good to save embarrassment. All in all a great place to stay

  • "We booked this cottage because of the location shown by the photographs."

Unfortunately the view and privacy are affected by a new build which is being built in front of the cottage. The view of the bay is now very restricted and whilst we were there we were looking onto a building site. We wish we had known about this before as we most certainly would have changed our plans. The cottage is beautiful and really well equipped it is such a shame about the new build.

  • "The cottage is cosy and well equipped, and has lovely sea views from many of the rooms."

It also has some attractive art-works, and is well-stocked with books, games, CD's and DVD's, so a pleasant place to relax. There are attractive walks right from the door plus many other attractive places to visit further afield. Would gladly return!

  • "The cottage is very comfortable, with a view of a tidal loch which exceeded our expectations."

It has special little extras like beautiful photos with Highland views and a tasteful, attractive painting in the living room, as well as a fantastic selection of games and books. We also loved the inclusion of some Scottish artists coffee table books. Very thoughtful and generous.

Amazing scenery and lovely walks with the grandkids and dogs. We can not recommend the Viking cottage highly enough. Will definitely be back for a longer stay 5 stars

  • "A lovely cottage in an amazing area."

Perfect setting to get away from it all and seeing nature and stunning scenery. The cottage is very well equipped, really comfortable beds and bedding, extremely clean and very warm too. The wood burner is amazingly effective and cosy if needed. (Only once in our case). There is lots of information at the cottage but, if any questions crop up, the the owners are very approachable and helpful. This isn't the area to come to if you are wanting reliable wifi etc. but perfect if you are happy to truly take in the atmosphere and embrace it. No hesitation in recommending for a totally relaxing but uplifting break.

  • "Viking Cottage was a real treat."

We spent 5 lovely days in February in this warm spacious house. We saw stags on the beach, rainbows over the sea and explored the surrounding area. Would love to go back.

  • "We absolutely loved loved the cottage and loved the area it was in."

It was clean, fresh and cosy. The views from it were dramatic and spectacular. Previous feedback mentioned that the owners had thought of everything and based on that I didn’t take some basic cooking ingredients that I have found in previous accommodations ie oil, sugar, salt, stock cubes etc and there wasn’t a supply. That’s not a criticism in any way but just useful for future tenants to know. Particularly good food in the area was The Lochailort Inn, Glenfinnan hotel and the Mingarry Park restaurant. As for what to do we loved the scramble to Smirisary beach, getting the boat to Eigg, watching the steam train cross the Glenfinnan Viaduct and finding Tioram castle. I also would recommend wildwood bushcraft mornings. We organised a private family morning and had a ball.

.. if it’s views and peace you want this place is perfect. Whilst there is a convenience store just 2 minutes walk away it’s only open 2 - 5 Monday to Saturday so that’s worth bearing in mind for your first day. They’ve thought of everything in the cottage.
