Nedd 1 mile; Lochinver 14 miles; Ullapool 39 miles.

The pretty village of Drumbeg is located about half way along the Lochinver to Kylesku B869 coast road, an area of dramatic natural beauty and wonderful sea views. The village itself boasts some local services including a village shop and a hotel with lively pub and restaurant. Drumbeg village can be approached from two directions either via the coastal road leading up from Lochinver or by the very pretty and winding road branching off from the A89. In addition to the spectacular coastline the area has magnificent mountains, fantastic wildlife and numerous fishing lochs which provide wild brown trout fly fishing. Permits can be obtained locally from the hotel for as little as £5 per day. The much larger village of Lochinver is 14 miles away and has a grocery shop, restaurants and hotels. A superb touring base.

The Property

This charming detached stone cottage offers cosy, comfortable accommodation, in a private and stunning location, on the edge of the village of Drumbeg, on the north west coast of mainland Scotland. Surrounded by mountains and with the sea close by, this Drumbeg cottage is ideal for a group of friends or a family who want to enjoy the fabulous outdoors and would appreciate the remoteness of the area. Internally, this Drumbeg cottage has double glazed windows, white stone walls and a beamed ceiling giving it a real cosy cottage atmosphere. On the ground floor this Drumbeg cottage has an open plan living area with a spacious and welcoming sitting room with an electric fire, a spacious dining area and a well-equipped, fitted kitchen. The bathroom is located off the kitchen via the utility/boot room. On the first floor there are cottage style coombed ceilings in the double and twin bedrooms and a quiet reading corner on the landing. A natural garden surrounds this Drumbeg cottage, where you can relax and unwind with a drink whilst enjoying the views. The small, friendly village of Drumbeg has its own hotel and bar, village shop and a soap and candle shop, which has a very popular tea room attached and is well worth a visit. Also there is fishing available on the local loch and permits can be purchased in Drumbeg. If you want to enjoy some time on the water, the village of Nedd, just a mile from this Drumbeg cottage, has its very own launching slipway, free of charge for visitors, and this is an ideal place for you to venture out on a small boat to explore the sheltered waters. The village of Lochinver is 14 miles south from this Drumbeg cottage and has a good village shop and choice of restaurants. This Drumbeg cottage is in a delightful 'get away from it all' location.
