Ahascragh is a small village in East Galway located 7 miles north-west of Ballinasloe. It has a thriving local community and is home to a number of traditional Irish pubs. It is surrounded by rolling countryside and is a great place to visit for those who enjoy walking and cycling. Anglers can avail themselves of excellent fishing in local rivers and can try their hand at catching pike and trout, both of which are common to this area. Ahascragh is central to a number of West Ireland's most popular attractions, most of which can be reached in under a couple of hours’ drive, including Clonmacnoise - the most visited heritage centre in Ireland, plus there are vast lakes to admire, craggy mountains to climb, rugged coastlines to explore and the vibrant city of Galway is just under an hour away. The Property

Ahascragh 3 miles. Dating back over 100 years, and located between Caltra and Ahascragh in County Galway, this traditional style cottage was formerly the gatehouse to the Clonbrock Estate. The property has been maintained to provide comfortable accommodation and benefits from a wealth of original features enhancing its charm and appeal. There are lovely walks to be enjoyed throughout the estate and surrounding areas, and anglers can fish for trout and pike in nearby rivers. The central location of this cottage makes it an ideal base from which to explore the region; neighbouring counties such as Clare and Mayo can be visited for day trips and the popular destination of Connemara with its breathtaking scenery and rugged coastline is only a couple of hours away. Great for quiet breaks or busy touring holidays, with something to offer throughout the year.
